Re: The Real World: Washington D.C. 23rd Season

There is nothing wrong with DC, I just don't want to watch MTV attempt to make RW political and divide the house in a Liberal vs. Conservative way in a attempt to create drama.

As I said, i've only seen 1 other season but isn't that the point to create drama?

What a horrible hour of television last night. From Ty and Emily and there boring, boring drama and then going into the PSA filled second half hour about women and there weight issues. I might be out on this season if they continue along this way.

What's wrong with DC?
Nothing's wrong with it... but it strikes me (as an outsider) as boring and stuffy. I may be totally wrong but that's my perception. I want to see these people drink, f*ck and fight. Not discuss getting into a relationship or politics or their sibling issues. I could only stomach 15 minutes of last nights show. I'm out.

Last week's ep was a snorefest with all the weight/fat discussion.

Yeah so far none of the roommates are interesting at all. One of them needs to get beat up or into a fight, preferably Ty. They should've thrown Ronnie or anyone from Jersey Shore in that house.

Not at all here either. Last week was perhaps the toughest time I've ever had getting through an episode of the show and I finally just had to give it up. This is the most boring group of people that they could have possibly put together.

Re: The Real World: Washington D.C. 23rd Season

Jersey Shore is really exposing how lackluster Real World has become. There's more awesomeness in one Jersey Shore episode than entire recent seasons of Real World.

And this DC cast in particular is just awful. Nobody is really bringing anything to the table except Emily's "I was in a cult and now I'm going to whore it up" mantra. And even there, Ty is holding her back by getting all clingy.

i remember rachel and puck hooking up briefly in the san fran season, which was like season 3

Well, to whoever said there hasn't been any drama yet this season....I hope you're happy. There was enough tonight for one season. Ashley is THE most high maintenance person in the house. And where is Mike's boyfriend? The season started off saying he left behind a guy he's been seeing for about 6 months. Is he going to come visit?

Ty is perhaps the biggest bitch I've seen on this show. There is not one compelling person here this season.

I guess the only one I like is the Obama/Jesus freak and only because I think she's the hottest one there.

Re: The Real World: Washington D.C. 23rd Season

I cannot even remember anyone's name this season.

The females, especially the alpha female are so screwed up it's not even funny. At least Aiiyisha (??) from Cancun was extremely hot and had an interesting personality. None of these women are attractive in anyway.

The rocker dude is an asshole. He's trying his best to cheat on his girlfriend, Ashley (I remember her name because she is very HOT). She should dump his ass. He's not even good looking in a rocker way.

And all the men in the house are wimps.

Re: The Real World: Washington D.C. 23rd Season

Saw a couple of this season's episodes recently. Not surprisingly given the location I saw a house full of self-important douchebags talking like morons. I must be getting old because I no longer find it weirdly cute to listen to twenty-year-old-know-it-alls blind to their abject ignorance of reality any more. People who know nothing about everything telling everyone how things should be just doesn't do much for me any more.

yeah she totally blew that situation out of the water.

alot of the show's "drama" and acting out is just selfish, grating, and child-ish - I know why I stopped watching this show a looooooooong time ago.

Andy or whatever his name is had more luck getting laid by the drunk gay guy at Nellie's Bar and Grille than with the skanks he tries to hook up with. and talk about stupid and clueless all they needed to do was walk west on U Street, down Florida Ave. and right back to their house on S Street - taking the metro back was just dumb.

I'm just watching the show to see all the familiar sites. Mike apparently goes to my family's church in an upcoming episode.

Hmmm, I guess that would explain the whole, "Hello, would you like to get into the hot tub and make out?", thing that's been going on for awhile. Still, I seem to remember the actual turning point being Las Vegas.

Does anyone think this is the worst decorated house ever? I do.

...but I also believe that I'm finally too old for The Real World. I'll be 40 next year so I guess it's about time.
tacky and ugly are two words that pop into my mind. The 'house' used to be a video store a long time ago.

Re: The Real World: Washington D.C. 23rd Season

I've been to The Big Cun... I mean The Big Hunt ... I was trying to figure what gay Dupont Circle club they went to. Much in the DC press was stating that a number of places told MTV and the RW cast were not welcomed - if they went in, the film crew was not allowed - one place The Black Cat took this stance/barring

Spoiler of potential plot point, article below.

Spoiler:
File this under ‘new reality television low.’

Real World D.C. castmember Erika Wasilewski an Illinois native and Columbia College grad — has admitted to faking cancer just to get attention from an ex-boyfriend.

Blog buzz started spreading before the MTV show started when the blog Shabooty.com revealed the dirt.

When asked if the allegations were true, she responded, “Um, there is some truth to what you’re hearing. Yes, it happened. Yes, I regret it. If I could take it back, I would. I was going through some severe emotional problems at the time. I was lashing out and craving attention wherever I could.”
