Supernatural -- "Changing Channels" -- 11/05/09

Supernatural

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Sam and Dean are thrown into an alternate universe where they become characters in various TV shows, including a medical series, a Japanese game show, a forensics procedural and a sitcom. Castiel warns them that if they don't find a way out soon, they will become trapped inside forever.

I heard this episode is an absolutely must watch. The show is going to poke fun at the following shows:

Spoiler:

Grey's Anatomy
The Office
CSI
I Survived a Japanese Gameshow

That intro was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

The opening credits were great.

It would have been funny if they would have gone back to shows the two guys used to be on like Gilmore Girls or Dark Angel

Spoiler:
I was hoping for a JDM joke during the Dr. Sexy scene. Something along the lines of, "Hey, that ghost sort of reminds me of Dad".

Great episode - tons of laugh out loud moments. I love when the show gets creative like this (even if parts reminded me of 'Stay Tuned') and was killing myself at the commercial. I also really liked how despite being hilarious, the episode got really serious at the end and those scenes with Gabriel really worked for me. Excellent.

That was hilarious! (Especially Sam's reluctant pitch in the commercial.)

What was the name of the fake herpes treatment product (was it Herpenex)?

I actually really liked that they did that. I always loved the Trickster episodes but it always bothered me how powerful he was. It sits better with me know.

I was waiting for that myself.

Loved this episode, it was everything this show does great all wrapped into one. It's a rare show I watch twice back to back, but this one I had to repeat right away. Just so fun.

Re: Supernatural -- "Changing Channels" -- 11/05/09

OMG!! I was absolutely dying during this episode.

The CSI: Miami spoof was fucking classic. Jared and Jensen have David Caruso's mannerisms down perfectly. Loved the Herpes commercial as well.

I guess there wasn't an Office spoof, but more or less a Thursday night sitcom spoof.

The Knight Rider spoof with the actual music was also pretty damn good.

The goofy opening credits was some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.

The fonts in the title sequence where used on Full House. Dean's comments on all the cop shows on tv are so true.

Got around to watching this last night. Another great episode.

The Trickster/Gabriel's comments at the end were interesting. I can't wait to see how this wrap this up without having the brothers kill each other, if possible.

I predict God finally shows up, and smites a lot of shit (and that Jeffrey Dean Morgan also shows up again in the finale)

Would Jeffrey Dean Morgan be God's vessel?

This episode was great. You really get the sense that the cast and crew are just having a blast doing their jobs.

I love that Dean knew Dr Sexy wore cowboy boots.
