Fringe -- "Earthling" -- 11/05/09

Fringe 2

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

When the Division probes bizarre cases of people turning into ash, the investigation also reveals clues about Broyles' past.

Finally returns since baseball is over. This episode was directed by Jon Cassar, who some of you probably know was the lead director on 24.

This was not set to record on my DVR last night. I'll have to make sure I check again before this evening.

I have to double check too. Earlier in the week, the airing of this episode was tentative because of baseball.

If you have DirecTV it is set. I double checked this morning, b/c last night the game was listed. Tonight it's got the listings for Bones and Fringe.

I've got Time Warner and its still listed as baseball. I had to manually set it to record from 9 til 10.

100% positive it's on. It would have been pre-empted if baseball went a 7th game, which it didn't.

I was over at Fringe's Facebook page and it's so funny seeing all the Baseball hate because it took off Fringe.

Glad I went to TiVo and reloaded the schedule last night before this came on! It still listed baseball.

Interesting episode. So they never explained how it happened. I guess the big thing to be derived by this installment is that the Russians also have a branch studying fringe science as well. Hmmm...

I'm sure I missed this because my Tivo said that baseball was still on.

Blech.

I thought the parasite was a freak accident in space? Something he brought back?

Also, at the end did they say they sent the Brother back into space?

It was never said explicitly, but it was certainly implied.
Or at least that's the way I took it.

Ah, you must've missed my posts in the baseball thread then.

Nice Broyles-centric episode. I know I wouldn't want to go against that shadow thing. That's a pretty kick ass power.

Fuck me, Broyles is a stone-cold bastard when he needs to be. Couldn't believe he actually shot the guy, which was the most logical thing to do in that situation. Nice to see someone step up and just do what needs to be done.

A real dud for me. One of those episodes I'll never watch again. Simply, not much interesting character work and the premise was really lame. Only worthwhile bit was the tease of ashing the kid.

I didn't love it either, but it was nice to learn a bit more about Broyles.

JJ Abrams did an interview with EW.com. He says as far as he knows FOX is very supportive of the show and it's not in danger of getting the axe despite getting killed Thursday nights.

Good because FOX had a hit last season and its not a hit anymore up against everything that is on that night.

Not a great episode, kept reminding me of the X-files episode called Space. But dammit if Broyles hasn't got the coolest walk ever!
