Re: Fringe..when does it get good?
This. I just rewatched the whole first season before I would start watching the second season (have 5 or 6 episodes saved up so far). This show got me hooked from the get go. I almost forgot how good it was last season.

Just got the first season on blu-ray so I'll try to watch this over the next couple of weeks.

I've loved Fringe from the beginning. And it keeps getting better. Glad it's back this week!

Re: Fringe..when does it get good?
I'm shocked more people don't enjoy this. I was sick with the flu last week and watched the whole first season in a few days. The pilot, I thought was amazingly strong. While I can agree that not much happens to tie the story together in the first few episodes, it picks up steam quickly. I was hooked right away.
The science is absurd, but I kind of like that about this show. It just runs with the idea and doesn't let up. It's far superior to something like Flash Forward, which has managed to be incredibly dull despite it's equally bizarre premise. The writing is very sharp, I enjoyed almost all of the episodes' opening set pieces. And I love watching the main cast interact in the lab. There were a few plot elements I haven't liked so far, but for the most part this show is by far the best Fox has to offer, and I think it's as good as anything on the other networks. I mean, Walter Bishop is just the fucking man.
