"I look good in yellow"

"You look like the sun"

Phil's smile when Gloria and Claire hugged was great.

Re: Modern Family -- "En Garde" -- 11/04/09

This show has really grown on me. I like it more and more each week and think it consistently brings heart and humour. Good example of subtle heart is the was at the end it shows Jay still has a picture of Mitchell and Claire.

The entire cast is great in different ways and all are very funny. That being said, Manny deserves some kind of award. I can't recall another child actor making me laugh on such a consistent basis. His facial expressions, line delivery, and comedic timing is really impressive for his age. The other kids on the show are funny, but he puts them to shame.

That gif image is killing me.

Re: Modern Family -- "En Garde" -- 11/04/09

I still don't quite get all the love for the show. I liked last week's episode better, but each week has been pretty good. Some good laughs and some weak spots. I like more characters on the show than I don't. I'm just not sold on it yet. I laugh enough to keep watching, but I don't find it to be all that special.

It doesn't even come close to say 30 Rock quality and I've been really down on this season of Curb, but I'd still rate that higher than this.

Again, I like it, but I want to love it or see it find its groove, but I haven't seen it yet.

This show has really grown on me. It's funny and clever without being crude and yet it never comes off as being cheesy. That's very hard to do. I also like how it doesn't take the easy way out and just make fun of the family members the entire time. Instead, it also shows how their quirks can be quite endearing. I hope it sticks around for a long time.

Loved this episode, one of the best to date. Loved Phil talking about Luke being good at selling and warning other real estate agents that "He'll drink your MILKSHAKE!" Awesome.

I think it's a funny show but it's not hilarious. You have to compare it not to stuff like 30 Rock but family-oriented shows. In that case its leaps and bounds above them.

i know everyone has their opinions and all, but i dont feel u can compare this show to 30 rock w/ a fair advantage. Both are 2 completely different style of comedy shows. As much as I love 30 rock, modern family has had me laughin alot harder so far.

But wow, this episode was hysterical! i dunno why but watchin the daughter rubbin the cell phone battery on her hair and the son trying to 'charge' his ipod in his mouth had me dying!

And, damn @ gloria!

I don't know about baseball but it looked like the kid had a good arm for shot put.

Re: Modern Family -- "En Garde" -- 11/04/09

I thought it was hilarious when Gloria was on the phone with her grandmother! I understood what she was saying, and why she was saying it in that tone (same goes on in my family), so to hear Ed's character ask his question, to me, was damn funny.

Great show. I agree that this show has been funnier than 30 Rock this season, and I love 30 Rock.

Gloria

I loved Jay's line about never having a trophy in his house until Gloria.
