Re: The Amazing Race 15 -- "This is Not My Finest Hour" -- 11/01/09

Well i have to say that the Miss USA winner or whatever that i said about in the last episodes post was really annoying this week. I feel sorry for her husband. Someone mentioned about her counting the keys that were being played by the guy to get the number of bells, but it looked to me like there were some bells that were not operational. Maybe i got it wrong, but thats the way it looked to me. The Globetrotters were cool once again, and it was nice to see a different team take first place. I was really happy to see the Poker players get the boot. They have been lucky as hell since the beginning. They are a prime example that some Poker Players get to where they are out of sheer luck. As for the detours, well i thought they were both balanced enough. Any of the teams should have been able to hit the bell. The Golf task was made harder by what looked like a strongish wind.

I agree in general but I think that the Asian girl was the most useless, most pathetic, most dead-weight contestant I have ever seen on TAR. And I've watched every season. In contrast, the other girl was a great competitor and if she had had a good partner (or even an adequate partner) I think she would have gone far.

Flo takes that prize by a mile.

But Flo was so much more entertaining.

The best part of that season was at the end when Flo and Zach hit the finish line and Zach just kept running.

(at least, not shown on TV) Am I getting something wrong?
They incurred a 2 hour penalty which they took at the beginning of the 2nd leg of the race. Everyone caught up to each other at the airport, so it wound up being a wash.

I dont know how anyone can remember a damn person from previous seasons.

Im glad those two bitches are gone. They had no right to be there as they came in last so many times to be saved by some miracle. I love the Globetrotters. These guys really need to win

Scratch that, I remember the midget and her cousin. They were funny!

To me it's not about eliminating Maria and Tiffany. I didn't really care about them one way or the other. It was more about the general unfairness of the detour and why no all female teams will win.

There are many words I could use to describe Mirna. I'm not funny would be one of them.

I remember less and less teams as the season go by, but I remember more of the teams from the early seasons. I mean, besides the white or black family from the all-family edition, I can barely remember any of the teams besides, maybe Rob and Ambuh!

I think maybe Lori from the wrestling team could have done it but she had her husband. You need someone with a lot of upper body strength to hold and swing that mallet. I think maybe one of the bowling moms could have done it perhaps.
Spoiler:
That rock climbing task using some kind of upper-body pulley system before the pit stop of the final 4 in their season was another task designed to eliminate an all women team. Those women split the roadblocks while Colin, Brandon and Chip did all but 1 of their roadblocks for their team

I remember teams more than names especially from the later seasons (when they all start to run together). For instance, while I do remember Dustin & Kandice, I'll admit that I had to look up Lena & Kristy's names earlier in the thread, and I really liked them.

Re: The Amazing Race 15 -- "This is Not My Finest Hour" -- 11/01/09

Skydiving and bungee jumping should be eliminated from the race because a lot of people are afraid of heights and/or jumping out of airplanes. They should eliminate the run to the finish line in all legs and have the finish as soon as you step out of the car so that teams that are fast runners don't have an unfair advantage. Get rid of the food challenges because one persons meaty delicacy can be a food allergy or an immoral choice for someone else. Give every racer a GPS because we're not all blessed with map reading skills. No golf-like challenges because anyone that has played golf before the race will have an unfair advantage. Dancing tasks are another no-no because a lot of people have no coordination or two left feet. Don't have anyone on the race that speaks anything other than English because it may cause an unfair advantage in one of the countries they go to. No tasks where any strength whatsoever is required so that anyone, regardless of physical ability, has a chance. Puzzle-solving tasks should be eliminated so as not to favor people with a higher intellect. Get rid of all water/swimming tasks because that has been the downfall of many teams in prior races - you don't want someone drowning out there. Any old mediocre person should have a chance of winning the race, you shouldn't have to be amazing to win TAR.

Nonsence

All you had to do is put the mallet overhead up against your ass and swing downward almost leaving your feet...a 10 year old could ring that bell

NOW, for those saying someone should have shown them how to do it, now you are arguing that they are too stupid to understand simple momentum...and thats not a physical disadvantage.

The detour WAS NOT UNFAIR

Maria is a fucking disgrace. Everything she does, she never put in any real effort into it. This whole race between them was all Tiffany.

Tiffany and Maria: I tried every possible technique with that hammer. The mallet acutally weighed 40 punds. It was heavy. I tried every possible way!

The heavier the mallet the easier it is to hit the bell

Or do Newtons laws do not apply in the Netherlands?

If Tiffany said she tried every possible technique with the mallet and the closest she could get was about four inches away who am I to doubt her word. It's not like we saw every attempt.

True, we probably didn't see every attempt. But, based on their performance on TAR up to that point, I'd tend NOT to believe that they actually thought of trying the proper technique.

The heavier the mallet the less accurate to hit the target.

I don't know why you expect them to suddenly turn into lumberjacks. I mean neither carried a backpack ferchrissakes and had rollie travel bags. That said a lot right there about their strength (or lack of).

They consolidated their belongings into 1 bag.

I remember a lot of the early teams. It does seem like the quality of racers has gone down since the first All-stars though. I would like to see another one, but then wonder who I would like to see and come up with......not much.

And for all the folks saying how boring this season has been, these last two eps sure have garnered a LOT of comments here.

Actually if I think really hard I can remember some. I have a great photographic memory but for reality shows, I dont remember shit. Though Im kind of proud of that

I also recall the clown guys, I wanted them to win.
The black family because it was hilarious
Some douche who always yelled at his wife "VICTORIA!!!!!" And I think slugged her once. My sister and I still quote him to this day when we do something good, we say "Yes!!! Im so proud of myself!"

I can't believe that people are trying to defend the poker team for being eliminated.
