at Laura whining that Shambo doesn't like her. Why the heck should Shambo like her? Laura was gunning to have Shambo booted and was certainly not concerned about Shambo when she was gorging on steak and Shambo got sent to the other tribe for a second time. What an asshole.

I really like Russel now, too. He's playing the game far better than anyone. I can't believe how he played Laura without a hitch.

Funny thing is, next week
Spoiler:
when they merge, the numbers should be about even and Russel may have pulled his immediate survival--and a strong place in the game--off. He'll have all his team, PLUS Laura and Shambo. That's 6 against 6 if he can manipulate it just right.

Re: Survivor: Samoa - 10/29/09

Did anybody else catch the odd ending to the reward challenge? Up 6-4 with only two possible matches left in play, all Galu had to do was match one pair to win. They matched the eating utensils, which won the reward. However, they were not given the choice to take the item instead of the point. They should have been allowed to forfeit the point for the item. If Galu took the item, the best Foa Foa could do is get the last point, still losing by one.

Since this is a tough game, EVERY item a tribe can get should be taken and treasured. They only left the challenge with the fire-starting kit and tarp. I noticed Jeff didn't ask them about taking the eating utensils, either. It seems he forgot the option that the rules provided for.

Natalie's waist is tiny, she cuts a fine hourglass figure.

Re: Survivor: Samoa - 10/29/09

Not surprised about Liz getting the boot. She did a poor job socializing and scheming, which Russell has done a great job at doing....even though he is a dick.

Dwight Howard....I mean Jaison is useless. I knew they wouldn't boot him since he's a tall and relatively athletic guy, but he totally quit on that challenge and seems to sit around more than actually do anything of substance.

I think Foa Foa might rank up there with the Ulong tribe in Survivor Palau as one of the worst tribes ever.

I think ultimately they kept Jaison because they trusted him more. With a merge presumably coming up at some point they figured the guy they could trust was better to keep.

I am really liking Russell's chances in this game, it will sure be an interesting next couple of weeks.

Does anyone have the feeling that the producers moved up the merge time to avoid another Palau (Stephanie/Bobby) situation?

Re: Survivor: Samoa - 10/29/09

Was it just my drinking problem, or did anyone else think that Liz was the best female challenger this year (purely in the challenges, not the game itself). It seemed like she continued to pull her weight more than any other girl (holding up the coconuts, fishing the pieces out of the water last night, etc).

Oh well, performance only gets you so far. Thats why this show is so good (or bad, depending on how you look at it)

Yes, but no one wants a strong female at the merge.

I still can't believe Ben told no one where he put the immunity idol. If someone knows and uses it later, that'll be a helluva play.

Ben never had the immunity idol. Russell just said that to throw her off.

Yeah, remember, Russell found it before any clues were given. He's convinced everyone that Ben had it and it looks like everyone's bought into that. Classic!

This episode was the first time I recall seeing Laura. I know she's been on, but not someone I cared about.

I was wondering about that too, but perhaps the rules of the game were that once you hit your point total, the game was over. Otherwise it would be pretty easy to get the last point and keep trading it for items. Bit of a risk, sure, but an easy way to pad your rewards.

LOL Tell me about it. She's my pick in the DVDTalk Survivor game and until about last week I had a hard time even figuring out who she was!

I didn't know who Laura was either. They could have replaced her with anybody and I would have figured I just missed one. Well I guess I did miss her.

Well...not everybody. Mick and Jaison both know that he has it. I don't remember if he's told Natalie yet or not.

Right, I knew that. Brain fart. But what about the other team? Didn't someone find it and hide it? I can't keep the names of the quiet losers straight!

I think Erik has it on the other team, IIRC.

Re: Survivor: Samoa - 10/29/09

The editing is way too much like Fiji where the vast majority of the cast are treated like extras who just pop up with a confessional every few episodes as to not get in the way of the Dreamz/Yau Man Russell/Shambo Show.

Hopefully this picks up now that their is a merge.

I finally figured out who Russell reminds me of

That lead singer from the band Crazytown except without all the tattoos

I agree though it doesn't bother me too much. It would seem very choppy if they tried incorporating all 20 cast members in most shows. I prefer they stick to those who are "important" now and edit it so we can follow easily. Makes it more fun. :P
