Re: Castle -- "Vampire Weekend" -- 10/26/09

From the way I understood it the step mom realized Crow was just about to figure out what had happened to his real mom and killed him before he could put it all together. How she knew? I'm assuming she's the one who took Crows "upset" call and realized what it really meant. With the exception of the first minute it was a mediocre episode.

So, what was the egg?

All we needed was a little Captain Hammer and we'd be all set.

I wonder if that was an old Firefly-used costume, or if wardrobe made it just for Castle.

I don't know but I'm betting Nathan kept at least one.

LOL! I watched it last night and thought I'd maybe had a cocktail too many. So I didn't delete it, figuring I'd re-watch it. Glad I wasn't the only one EITHER!

I assume it was the trip to the fangmaster after reading this and I'm kicking myself for not getting the joke immediately.

EDIT:

Nathan Fillion said on his Twitter page that the browncoat was not the egg, so it's still out there.
The easter egg has been found

Looked like his Serenity outfit actually.

Actully, didn't he simply mention that "Buffy" was in town? I don't think it was hidden.

He did. Funny since he appears on the show's final season as well.

I had a little trouble following the case, but I thought that was because I wasn't paying great attention.

Yeah, I found it hard to follow and kind of checked out by the end. I think the case was just boring.

Re: Castle -- "Vampire Weekend" -- 10/26/09

This was probably the best episode of Castle yet. Yes the case was a little confusing, but all of the interactions between the characters where hitting on all cylinders. Add to that the Buffy and Firefly jokes and it was just priceless.

"Space Cowboy?" indeed.

Re: Castle -- "Vampire Weekend" -- 10/26/09

I read "Heat Wave" by "Richard Castle", as while it was a pretty good read, it really showed me how it takes someone with charisma like Fillion to play the part. In the book, the role of Castle is given to a reporter, and he would come off very annoying only for I was picturing Fillion acting as the character. Without thinking about the Castle role on the show, the character in the book would have been pretty abrasive.
