Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Wife and I have been Tivo'ing Craig for a couple/few years. I think we actually bought our bedroom Tivo just to be able to watch Craig. We season pass it and watch it when we crawl into bed the next night (since we aren't awake to watch it live). We rarely, if ever, get to the guests but we'll watch the ones we really want to.

Craig is the funniest man on TV, period. Head and shoulders above any other late night host. It took me a week or so to warm up to him but once you get it, you get it.

I first saw his show when he interviewed Jennifer Beals and I've been a fan ever since.

WOW, for pure Ferguson comedy gold, the other guest tonight is Robert Carlysle! Craig is always at his best with a fellow Scotsman.

Agree 100%. He's good with guests from the UK in general.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

I didn't think the interview with Carlyle was that great, but Kristen Bell was fantastic.

I thought the interview was good because it was a couple of old friends hangin' out and catchin' up. But I admit, Carlyle's soft voice, mumbling, and thick accent did leave huge gaps in the interview.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Does anyone know when Craig's contract with Letterman/CBS ends? I wouldn't mind him going to cable (as he hinted yesterday?) or going to another network.

I didn't get the impression that they were friends. They obviously knew each other from 20 or 30 years ago, whatever they said, but they didn't seem to chummy. But Carlyle's mumbling and accent definitely made things difficult.

I honestly can see Ferguson walking away from the night time scene, based on some comments he has made in the past. It would suck, but I think that there is a better chance than him ever taking over for Letterman or going somewhere else.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Craig Ferguson is the one show I would go on if suddenly everyone wanted me on their show.

That is all.

Yeah, I recall reading early on in his tenure, that he wanted to do 5 years and walk away.

Re: The Craig Ferguson Appreciation Thread

Story Here

For the Lazy:

Nov 13 2009

Craig Ferguson draws more 18-49 viewers than Jimmy Fallon for first time
by Tanner Stransky

In a first in the late-night talk show world, CBS’ Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson beat NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in the coveted 18-49 demo, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ferguson has been inching closer to this for a while: In five of the last seven weeks, he’s tied Fallon. But this is the first time since Ferguson’s 2005 premiere that he’s beaten his competitor from NBC in the advertiser-coveted demo. Jimmy Kimmel Live! managed to tie Late Night last week, too.
