Supernatural -- "Fallen Idol" -- 10/08/09

Supernatural

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Citizens of a small town are being killed by dead icons, such as Abraham Lincoln, and by infamous objects, like James Dean's car. Later, two teens claim a friend was kidnapped by Paris Hilton (appearing as herself).

Sounds like a standalone episode, which some of you have been begging for. Anyways, I read that Kripke got some ridicule for the stunt casting of Hilton. Anyways, I think this will be a fun episode regardless. I think Jensen and her will be comedy onscreen.

I can't stand Paris Hilton and this episode sounds beyond stupid. That said, you know Jensen Ackles will bring the funny and they need a semi-light episode now that Dean and Sam are back together. They can't have the shit hit the fan just yet. So I'll accept this temporary respite of sorts for what it is.

Hasn't the show made fun of Paris Hilton in the past with some Dean lines?

I hate her, so I'm hoping this is so they can kill her violently.

I don't think this episode sounds stupid. I mean Supernatural has always had a few fun episodes that make fun of certain things including current pop culture. Remember the one that made fun of classic monster movies a season or 2 ago?

It kinda sounds like the wishing well episode from last season.

Don't get me wrong. I've enjoyed the past silly episodes. "Kneel before Todd!" But this one just seems really stupid. Like an old Ghost Busters episode where they met the ghost of Sherlock Holmes cos he was so popular the love of his fans made him "real".

It was last season, and it sucked. It was probably the worst ep of the season.

That was an awesome preview at the end. I loved old Dean and Sam doing a Horatio Caine impersonation.

Yeah the preview was great. I guess there is no new episode next week then?

That was a missed opportunity - it would have been interesting to see Castiel go up against a Demi-God.

So then why did we get that super preview? Not that I'm complaining it's just that it was a rather odd thing to do.

That and Sam teasing him about it was hysterical.

Why do people use the term "pwnd". I sorta get the context (kind of like when people used to say "owned") but I don't get the whole spelling or why even use a "p" at all. And it sounds so ridiculous when people say it.

I loved how they did the quick cut to Jared Padalecki and the look on his face when Dean said he's never seen House of Wax

The episode overall was dull

Ah, thanks. I figured there was more to that look than just a Paris Hilton reference.

Spoiler:
The previews after the show was better than the episode, but the once scene where Sam pulls the David Caruso cheesy one liner was gold!
