Larry David should set up a Frasier reunion on Curb. Who cares if he didnt create that show.

Re: Hank -- New Series with Kelsey Grammer -- Debuts 9/30/09

I actually tried to give the whole episode a shot. I wanted to like it...Frasier was one of the best sitcoms of all time. Back to You started out with potential, but I think the show really took a tail spin when they tweaked the cast after the writer's strike and it never recovered. But this show was the most painful thing I sat through since The Goode Family. And I couldn't get past 10 minutes of Patricia Heaton's new show...I forget what that was called.

Looks like I will try to give Mercy another chance after all.

so this Hank show and the Heaton show are both about people that have to live out of their ordinary element?

Both shows were pretty bad but the kids on Hank were horrific. The daughter was some ugly caricature of a teenager. I think its time for a hunting season to be opened on Hollywood writers/producers until they are thinned down a bit.

Not surprisingly, seems like everyone gave up on the show.

I gave it another chance last night since I wasn't doing anything else. It was better than the pilot but that isn't to say it was at all good (the pilot was pretty awful to begin with).

I'm looking at the picture in the first post - you can just tell Grammer is pissed that he already knew the show stunk to begin with.

I gave it another chance last night as well. You're right that it was better than the pilot but it was still terrible. I stopped halfway through and deleted it from my scheduled recordings list.

Hank got the axe...finally!!

It's the end of the road for "Hank."

ABC has canceled the freshman comedy starring Kelsey Grammer. The show is filming episode 10 and will stop production after wrapping that episode.

ABC, which has aired five half-hours of "Hank," has no immediate plans to run the remaining five segments.

For the next few weeks, the network will air a combination of comedy repeats and holiday specials in "Hank's" Wednesday 8 p.m. time slot. (ABC already preempted the freshman comedy once for a Charlie Brown Halloween special last month.)

"Hank" was the odd duck in ABC's all-new two-hour Wednesday comedy block as it was the only traditional sitcom in a field of single-camera series.

It was mostly bashed by critics and has underperformed in the ratings in its 8 p.m. slot, kicking off the two-hour comedy block.

ABC has already picked up its other three new comedies, "Modern Family," "Cougar Town" and "The Middle," for a full season.

"Hank" joins another ABC freshman casualty, Wednesday drama "Eastwick," which also was recently canceled after 13 episodes.

I can't complain that it's gone, but ratings can be a weird thing: Hank's final airing still got better ratings than 3/4 of NBC's Thursday night comedies.

Why would they have Kelsey Grammar on Conan the same week his show is pre-empted for the CMAs? Shouldn't they have at least tried to use his appearance to, I don't know, promote the show?

/never watched Hank, just dumbfounded...

And wasn't he on some late night show the same night/week that Back to You was canceled? He will forever be Frasier 'Sideshow Bob' Crane. Not a bad mark, though.
