Man, this ep was pretty boring when House wasn't on screen. It's a testament that Laurie can carry 2 hours in a psych hospital all by himself (with new characters), but the established characters of the hospital are yawn-inducing with House there to add the spice. It was still a good episode, but that was mainly due to House and Wilson, not the case.

I liked it better than the premiere.

I didn't find the scenes with Foreman and 13 boring at all. I actually thought the case was pretty interesting and the video game graphics were pretty cool too...thought it added to the episode.

Re: House -- "Epic Fail" -- 9/28/09
And what exactly was that food that House gave Thirteen? Was it ragu sauce injected into a partially cooked egg yolk?
I have a bet riding on this. I know the episode will be online a week from now, but I deleted the episode on both DVRs last night after we watched. I really don't want to clean kitty litter boxes every 3 days for the next 2 weeks. Does someone have the episode still recorded who could look at the scene where 13 is in House's kitchen, he extracts the egg yolk and injects something into the eggs. I remember it being red sauce. Can someone confirm it was red sauce and not a white sauce?

My guess on the special dish House prepared:
I think he first removed the egg yoke whole from a raw egg. He then poached the yoke a bit to cook the outer part but leave the center of the yoke raw. He next removed the raw center using a syringe and then replaced it by injecting his homemade ragu meat-based tomato sauce. He finally put it on a cracker of some sort and that's when he gave it to Thirteen to eat.

Best line of the night: Thirteen, after tasting House's egg concoction, "That's the best thing I've ever eaten. And yes, that includes what you're thinking."
