Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

I hate that NBC keeps delaying 30 Rock. It seriously reduces the number of weeks I can count on having new 30 Rock, The Office, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episodes all in the same night.

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Californication coming in Sept? Cool. Looks like I'll have to hold on to Showtime (I have 3 months free until the beginning of October).

Here a grid that includes premiere dates (and cable):
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide.aspx?id=fall_2009

Monday at 9 is a pain in the ass at least through football season or when Dancing with the Stars gets down to one hour.

At least Smallville got moved to Fridays. That helps with Thursday.

A programming choice that I find to be extremely stupid. How many episodes will they manage to show before the holidays and everything goes on hiatus? They will lose viewers who forget about the show during the break and wonder what happened. (Of course the show could totally suck and ABC is already looking to burn off the episodes in the can.)

Fox is going to program to 11PM for the premiere? I haven't seen that too often outside of sports or the occasional movie.

Good to see CW gets a week jump on the other network. I'll be tuned in almost every night on that network.

Needs more bold. Like for the dates. Makes it easier to read.

Actually quite the opposite. The show was originally going to be a mid season replacement. The network moved the premiere date up to the first week of sweeps after the intensely positive response from all the screenings (including those that led to international sales - V thus far is leading new shows in terms of international markets).

Made a few updates:

Added Greek, Crash and updated time for Friday Night Lights Directv premiere.

Also, bolded days to lessen eye strain.

FOX is doing this because an NFC Playoff game will be on that day and Human Target will follow it right after the game followed by 24. They obviously want to capitalize on the football audience similar to what they did with Terminator 2 years ago.

Thanks for pointing out the grid. That helped with a few updates.

As for Californication, if you want to watch the entire 12 episodes your going to have to pay for a few months since it's going until December. I'm hoping Showtime will have some kind of special in the next month or so, so that I can catch that and Dexter.

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Man, my DVR is going to get a serious work out. There are a few shows that I need to catch up on before the new seasons start.

I never caught the first seasons of 'Castle', 'The Mentalist', 'Fringe' and 'Dollhouse' to name a few. Then there's the matter of new shows I wouldn't mind checking out.

The last week in September is going to be a beast that's for sure.

Between Netflix, online sources and the DVR I should be in for one heck of a ride

Glad I got my new laptop yesterday so that I can at least watch some of these shows online to get a head start

With just the ones you mentioned that already over 66 hours of viewing. The DVD's for all those shows haven't even come out yet. Be prepared to have a seriously full DVR since there is no way you will be caught up in time.
