Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

I think the Philanthropist was a limited run series. Had it been a runaway success, I am sure it would be back, but I doubt they got more than 3 or 4m viewers. I also believe it is shot on location, so the costs are fairly high. I enjoyed the series as well. Much deeper than the usual tv show, much more like a independent movie.

EDIT: (Apparently the post I was referring to has been deleted.)

I'm hoping that I can find most of them online somewhere so I can at least get a head start that way. Plus if I'm not impressed after a couple of episodes, I'll just drop the show in question.

NBC must fear Dollhouse, Ugly Betty and Medium

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Thanks Jadzia!

Updated the 1st Post with Jadzia's additions and included times as well.

Removed Hell's Kitchen because the current cycle does not end until October 13th. Season 7 probably will not premiere until sometime in 2010.

BTW, thanks for the headsup on Eyes. Been wondering when the hell it was going to premiere.

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Just a headsup, if your a Directv subscriber w/Tivo or have a DVR, the September 8th premieres should have shown up by now on your DVR. I already set the season pass for Melrose Place. I know it's going to be so trashy, yet good.

Thanks for the list DJariya.

Question. If I watch any of the episodes of 'Fringe' or 'Castle' online, will that ruin anything?

I mean, are there continuing storylines or subplots etc? Usually when I start a new show already in progress I start from the very first episode

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Well, Castle isn't serialized. It's more stand alone procedural. So if you watch episode 4 or 5, you won't be lost storyline-wise. However, there are a few small plot points that do carry over, but nothing major.

As for Fringe, each mystery/monster of the week plot is pretty standalone, but there are recurring characters/subplots that carry over during the season. So, I would not recommend starting w/ episode 14.

It looks like they really are trying to kill Chuck off. That is one of my favorite shows and it won't have any new episodes until March of 10. I imagine they'll burn off a few episodes that no one will catch and then they'll cancel it for another reality show

From what I read NBC gave Josh Schwartz 2 choices. Come back in the Fall on Friday's or wait until after the Winter Olympics and have 13 episodes run consecutively and get the Monday at 8pm timeslot.

The success of the show will really depend on how well they promote it during the Winter Olympics. I understand your point that waiting that long could be disastrous as alot of people will forget about it.

^ I wondered why the second season hadn't been released yet. They may wait until 1Q 2010 to try and resuscitate interest.

Re: 2009-10 Fall TV Schedule (Premiere Dates)

Can someone please tell me if NBC has Heroes episodes on their website after the show has aired on Mondays? Or does CBS show How I Met Your Mother starting the next day?

For the first time ever, I have a conflict that can't be resolved. TV is not life or death in the house like it used to be, but I do want to give Heroes a shot, especially if they manage to turn things around.

We just have one dvr and I'm not renting another for one show. So, I have to give up a show on tv now with House, HIMYM, and Heroes. I can record 2 shows, but I have to watch one of them. So, I will watch House and record HIMYM or Heroes.

I've actually never had this happen and it kind of blows. Heroes has been really disappointing, but I'd rather stop watching on my own terms.

Even though I'm more down on Heroes, I think a show life that benefits more from being watched on my HDTV and not on a computer like a sitcom. If Heroes sucks early, then I'd just give up on it.

Thanks.

Heroes should be available on NBC.com or Hulu.com the following day.

How I Met your Mother is Produced by 20th Century FOX and I believe CBS does not have the rights to air them online.

So record HIMYM and House...watch Heroes online.

Darn, was hoping I'd be able to watch HIMYM online, but at least I have one option rather than none.

Thanks.

You could always catch reruns of the whole season of HIMYM over the following summer.

'Scrubs' to return Dec. 1
Revamped series to air Tuesdays at 9 p.m.

By MICHAEL SCHNEIDER

ABC's revamped "Scrubs" will return to the network airwaves Dec. 1.

Show, which will undergo an overhaul this year as the focus shifts to a med school setting, will air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. starting that night.

For its launch, "Scrubs" will also air a second original episode that night, at 9:30 p.m. Sophomore laffer "Better Off Ted" returns the following week, Dec. 8, at 9:30 p.m.

On Dec. 1, "Scrubs" 2.0 will bow behind the animated holiday special "Prep & Landing," which will air at 8:30 that night.

"Prep & Landing," which coincidentally features the voice of "Scrubs" vet Sarah Chalke, is the first-ever ABC special from Walt Disney Animation.

New "Scrubs" stars returnees John C. McGinley and Donald Faison as well as Eliza Coupe, Michael Mosley, Kerry Bishe and Dave Franco. Original series star Zach Braff is also set to appear in several episodes.

Scrubs with no Sarah Chalke and little Zach Braff? Can you say "jump the shark"?
