I am glad they threw in the line how it wouldn't take Godric long to die since he is so old - sine Bill was running around in the sun and just became a crispy critter.

Really liking this season now. Just a great scene at the end with Eric and Godric. I have much optimism this show can endure the long haul now. IMO it's always the shows with strong supporting characters which succeed. Bill and Sookie are not a bad storyline, but it's the Eric's and Jessica's of the series that keep me interested.

Loved the episode, as I have this entire season. I think this episode really has been the best, so far. I know there are those that don't care for the Maryann storyline, but, I LOVE the character, I LOVE Michelle Forbes, and I believe where the story is headed will give us one hell of a conclusion. I'll be sad to see that storyline end, because I really do like the character of Maryann. I also loved Godric, and hated to see his story only get a couple of episodes. That sucks! Literally!

Great ep and like others here I was choked up at the end too. The scene with Sookie, Erik, and Bill's Maker was HOT. I'm telling you guys, this show really knows how to do intimate scenes.
I was also sorry to see the badass Dallas Vampire go. He was an ass but he was pretty cool.
And oh, to the badass rescue by Lafayette and his aunt.

More naked Eric AND naked Sookie is the way to go here . . .

I'd be all in favor of more naked Sookie as long as it means less close-ups of her teeth. I think she is very pretty until she smiles.

It seems to me that the vampire mythology isn't very well thought-out here. If Sookie getting a drop of Eric's blood in her mouth forms a bond between them, then shouldn't anyone who takes "V" also develop a bond with the vampire whose blood they used? And why didn't Sookie start tripping out when she ingested Eric's blood? (Or Bill's for that matter, when he healed her from her beating back in season one?)
Sort of reeks of not thinking things through and making up rules as they go along. But it's still not as bad as Heroes, though.

Still seems a little "off." I would think that the older vampires get, the stronger and harder to kill they would become. So if Bill, being under two centuries old, could walk a mile or two in the sun, then it's going to take a hell of a lot of sun exposure to kill Godric.

That so depends on the mythology. I read a ridiculous amount of vampire fiction, and the idea that the older you are, the more deadly the sun is is pretty common.
I agree about the v, though. Things make a little more sense in the books--it's like Alan Ball decided to change things here and there, and sometimes the pieces don't really fit anymore.

The fact that the only mention that the Maryann storyline got so far in this thread is Robo's line about Lafayette and his aunt (at least Lafayette spiced things up), shows how little people give a shit about it. How come there's never a vampire around when she wants to do her black-eye shtick?

I find it boring, tedious, and uninteresting. My feelings about that entire storyline haven't changed, but I feel badly commenting about it every week (because I really enjoy the rest of the who).

Naked Eric, my dreams came true this week! LOL I love this show, one of the best on TV in my opinion. I was bummed about Godric though, would have like to see them delve deeper into the character and like others have said I am WAY over the Maryanne storyline. I am also over Bill, he is just so whiny and annoying lately "you can't have her!, Don't touch her!, She is mine!, She'll never be yours! Blah, Blah, Blah. If I was Sookie I'd tell him to STFU already. LOL

I'll never understand why some people find the Maryann storyline to be boring and uninteresting? I think it has been fun, because she has brought uninhibited fun and passion out of the people. They've done crazy things, and don't even realize that they are being controlled. It's all leading up to something big! It has been fun and mysterious, and in my opinion, that makes for great television! Plus, Michelle Forbes plays the role so deliciously. How anyone could not like it, I'll never know.

The problem with the Maryann storyline is that they didn't have the right sequence of events to build up to when the Vampires finally encounter her. The crazy parties from earlier on should have happened these past two episodes and Tara and Eggs' confusion should have happened before. It seemed like with all the parties and with Sookie getting attacked, Maryann would have been priority one.

Eric's crying over Godric was so badly acted that it was delicious. I was lol'ing myself into a fucking frenzy and probably wouldn't be able to count the number of times I rewound it just for kicks.
