Re: 2009 Emmy Nominations
Is House really still that good that it's considered to be one of the best shows on TV? I use to watch it but after 4 seasons of the same old thing, I gave up after season 4. Nothing after happened in it that seemed to affect the characters for more than 2 episodes. House gets shot, gets better. House is arrested for his Vicodin addiction, he gets off. Wilson's girlfreind dies, he blames House, quits his job. 2 episodes later, he's back. Yawn.

I've been watching Mad Men lately so it's good to see the awards. Definitely one of the best shows out there. I can't complain. Pretty much all my favorite shows are nominated - Dexter, Lost, The Office, 30 Rock, Entourage
Was True Blood not eligible?

Some reactions
Found this one to be the funniest:
"I didn't find out until I checked my messages while walking the dog," John Slattery said of his nomination for supporting actor in a drama series. "I was bending over picking up dog shit, but doing it while finding out something like this is the best way." The "Mad Men" actor didn't expect the nomination, but is excited about the show's many nom, saying, "It's great to be part of a show that isn't everywhere yet, it's on the ascendance." With filming for "Mad Men" beginning in the early morning and continuing until past midnight, Slattery has little time to celebrate. "It's all work and family right now," he said, adding that the nom is "gratifying. It shows that it's time well spent."
Aaron Paul.. so happy for him!:
Aaron Paul was struggling for words after receiving his first-ever Emmy nomination: supporting actor in a drama series for his role as Jesse Pinkman on AMC's "Breaking Bad." Paul, who put in a long day of shooting Wednesday, promised himself he would sleep through the nominations and found out the news after his manager called over and over until he woke up. "I'm so thrilled to even be associated with the other nominees, it's unbelievable," he said. "I've been screaming all morning with my girlfriend and my buddy; we're all freaking out together. I just love doing what I do, and I'm so lost for words. I'm so happy for everyone on the show and the show being nominated and Bryan (Cranston) being nominated again; it's such an incredible feeling."

No love for Elizabeth Moss? Really?
While I love Breaking Bad, Walt's character became an asshole this season. So, in my book, this is Jon Hamm's year!

That's a huge bummer that Friday Night Lights got no love whatsoever.

all the more reason why he should win the award. last year you cared about him and could empathize with him. now you can't. it's a brilliant about face.

well they got it right last year by giving Cranston the award, so I don't see any reason why he shouldn't get it again this year. he was brilliant.

Got some nice surprising this morning "Breaking Bad"/"How I Met your Mother" surprise nomination...
But I can help but feel a little milfed that True Blood wasn't even able to snag a best actress nomination...

This is why I don't care and don't watch the Emmys. No Shield love since the 1st season. Ridiculous. No Wire and Shield love for two of the best shows of the decade. No True Blood either which sucks.
Happy for Breaking Bad, Entourage, Damages, In Treatment nominations.

January Jones should have been nominated over Moss. She also had a much larger role this past season and the growth of her character was amazing to watch.. Moss' character really didn't have much until the final episode.

With all the buzz SNL got this season for its brilliant skewering of Sarah Palin, how can you be surprised by the show's nomination??

Re: 2009 Emmy Nominations
My first thought as well and it was such a great season. So many Emmy worthy scenes ... most with Connie Britton. If FNL is such a critical darling, why are there so few accolades.

Re: 2009 Emmy Nominations
Why is Weeds getting nominated still? Monk still?
Why is Charlie Sheen on this list?
Why isn't Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost there or Mary McDonnel from Battlestar Galactica?
I too agree that The Soup is better than SNL.
