The Dawn of the Third Age of Sheep Games: Babylon 5 Sheep
- Rules
- The object of the game is to out-think everyone by picking answers to questions that are the most common (Sheep) or least common (Reverse Sheep), but still correct.
- Example Sheep question: "Name any character from Babylon 5." A good answer might be Delenn and a bad answer might be Captain Sisko.
- Example Reverse Sheep question: "Name an alien species that appeared on Babylon 5". Minbari might be a bad answer, but Vendrizi might be a good answer. (Unless everyone is trying to go as obscure as possible).
- Sheep scores are tallied as negative numbers. Reverse Sheep scores are tallied as positive numbers. The lowest score wins.
- The answers to each question are tallied up. Wrong answers in Reverse Sheep are scored two points above the most common answer. This penalty is multiplied by the Lightning Round Multiplier. Wrong answers in Sheep are not penalized.
- Certain rounds are considered Lightning Rounds (designated by a multiplier, such as ×2). In these rounds, scores are adjusted by the number on the multiplier. A wrong answer still gets a +4 penalty in a ×2 round and a +6 penalty in a ×3 round, and so on. In a sheep round, a wrong answer scores normally.
- You may not cheat by using Google, The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5, etc. Use only what's in your head.
- Please send in your answers to me via PM. Place only one answer per line, without numbers or the question itself. Those who do not do this will be penalized 10 points right off the bat.
- For your convenience, I've made an Excel file where you can prepare your answers. When finished, just select the column of answers and send that in as text via PM. Don't email me the Excel file, that would be silly.
- Note: For the purposes of this game, Reverse Sheep answers will be determined to be correct or incorrect based on my whims. I can of course be swayed by evidence, argument, etc. However, a better way to curry favor is by giving me gifts. A particular favorite is chocolate hobnobs. PM me for my address.
- Sheep questions are marked by an S:, Reverse Sheep questions are marked by an R:.
- NEW! There are no Equalizer Question(s). They are stupid and I hate them.
- I would like to get at least 20 players, so I don't have a time frame set for this one. Under no circumstances will I take more than 35 (this excludes your game runner, of course).
- Special thanks goes out to The Bus for providing the formatting, rules, etc. for me to steal.
- The Questions
- R: Name a member of the League of Non-Aligned Worlds.
- S: Name one of the major powers (i.e. not the League of Non-Aligned Worlds or a member of the League) on the Babylon 5 Council.
- R: ×2 Name someone that visited or lived on Babylon 5 that had telepathic abilities.
- S: Name one of the Starfury squadrons based on Babylon 5. There were at least four.
- S: Name one of Babylon 5’s sectors.
- R: Name one of the TV movies or spin-off series based on Babylon 5.
- R: Name another television series for which J. Michael Straczynski wrote.
- S: Name any member of the main cast (actor, character name, or description). Main cast means that this person appeared in the opening credits during any season of Babylon 5.
- S: What was the episode that got you hooked on Babylon 5? (name or description)
- R: Name any war that the Earth Alliance fought.
- S: ×2 Name or describe one of the Centauri gods.
- S: Name or describe the character that went through the most change throughout the series.
- R: Name a source of news in the Babylon 5 world.
- R: ×2 Name or describe a member of the Grey Council.
- S: Approximately how many "tonnes of spinning metal, all alone in the night?" is Babylon 5?
- S: Name one of Mr. Garibaldi’s “favorite things”.
Good luck!

I see lots of potential issues with #9, who's the arbiter of whether an episode is considered one of the best?

I see a ton of problems with #9. You should clarify how it is considered the best.
Oh, and I sent my answers in.

Same here. I've only seen DS9 once through. Bailed on Voyager early. Years since I have seen TNG eps, although the best ones I've seen numerous times. Most of my knowledge is from TOS and ENT (since it's recent and fresher in my mind).

Oh, so now FasonJ gets to be the permanent example of somebody with zero points!? That sucks! I'll get you for this, Bus!

I'm going to stink this joint up. I only ever watched TNG, can't stand TOS, and know a few little tidbits about the others. This is gonna get ugly.

PM sent. Tracer, if there's an issue with my answer to #21 could you please let me know?
Edited to add: I'm going off your answer to Red Dog on the episode names question to assume that my answer to #21 will be valid.

LOL I'd love to do this one as a Star Trek fan, but I think it's even too techie for me, LOL, I don't know even a viable answer to many of those questions. :P

Lets just say I'm very glad I've re-watched almost all of the Star Trek series over the past couple years.

I'm addicted to these Sheep games.
I very rarely surfed the internet at work, but now I've gotten into the habit of following the sheep games every afternoon instead of working.
Before the new season starts, can someone please do a Lost sheep?
