I have been waiting to start the first Big Brother thread before the season thread gets started. The cast is supposed to be revealed tomorrow morning on The Early Show.
also I found this as a rumor on this website, but this is the rumored twist for the game.
The new house pics are also up on, www.cbs.com.

Big Brother has cast people who they believe represent some typical high school stereotypes. However, it will not be Big Brother pairing them up. Once they enter the house, they will be told to form the cliques themselves – Big Brother will not force them together like Big Brother 9. In other words, Big Brother could have cast someone that they see as a Jock but the houseguests could decide that they are a “geek” instead. I didn't post the whole article, but its on the website above.

OMG, they casted a Ph.D, and a videogame junkie. Not quite feeling this cast, time will tell if they are too guarded to be an entertaining cast to watch.

No really good eye candy this season, maybe it will take time to warm up to this group. Kind of funny all the houseguest are in their 20s to early 30s except one person. Here is what the now confirmed twist is.

What group did you fit into in high school? That is the question 12 strangers will face on the season premiere of BIG BROTHER, Thursday, July 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

12 strangers will move into the Big Brother house and learn that they will be ‘kickin it old school’ this summer, high school to be exact. The House Guests will be shocked to learn that they will be playing the game in one of four familiar high school cliques – popular, athletes, brainiacs and off beats. They will compete for food, safety from eviction and luxury prizes as part of their clique.

They will also be surprised to discover that a mystery 13th Houseguest is coming to the BIG BROTHER house, to join the game and give an advantage to one of the cliques.

“You may have graduated, but the truth is we never leave high school and this summer we are going to prove it,” says Allison Grodner, Executive Producer of BIG BROTHER. “From the brains to the jocks to the off-beat, everyone will be able to identify to one of these cliques, giving the viewers a group to root for and against from the very beginning. The division will cause instant drama.”

Are we getting HD this year? I finally got MTVHD and The Real World is HD, seems like it would be easier to do this in HD.

My roomate loves this show, so I catch it way more than I usually would (which is to say, never). I admit to actually developing some interest in it, but that's mainly because of the eye candy ("Look! A bikini barista!").

Once the two attractive women in this year's cast are out, so am I.

Perhaps Chen is afraid of the HD camera? It's mostly stationary cameras, seems like it would make for an easy HD conversion.

Yeah, that "twist" is fucking retarded (as Adam would say). When will they learn that all they need to do is find a good group of people and throw them in the house. The main problem is that the housemates are always too similar and very few of them have interesting personalities (if they have one at all). They also need to make it less about the alliances. It gets tiring when all they talk about is who is voting for who. Some of these people live with each other for months and never have a real conversation. If they would watch one season of BB UK, they would understand that it's about the people, not the twists or alliances.

If that is true, the only person who deserves another shot is Brian. Shelia made the final three, and Jessica was either 4,5 or 6 I don't remember. Brian didn't get a chance to really play the game last summer being the first person evicted.

I'm up to day 11 (still about 3 weeks behind). Yes, there are some pretty girls in that group.

Big Brother USA could learn a lot from the British version. They give the houseguests tasks everday to keep things interesting.

I also like the way they put people up for nomination. The houseguests vote for 2 people to go up for eviction and the top 2 vote getters then go up for eviction with the viewing audience making the final decision. CBS could make a lot of money charging for the voting texting and phone calls. I also like that when a evicted houseguest leaves the house, they can be mercifully booed by thousands of spectators just to show them how much of an ass they have been.

And most importantly, the host (Davina) for BBUK actually has a personality and is quite funny with her putdowns of the cast members.

It's also nice that the studios in England are not afraid to pay royalites for any song they play live and they encourage the houseguests to sing (either good or bad). I am very interested (and please don't spoil it for me) to see if they tell the houseguests that Michael Jackson died. He is huge in Britain and his music was prominently featured during last years edition.

This is how the US version worked originally as well, leading directly to the disaster known as Season 1.
