Apparently the plan is to have 16 episodes, with both the premiere and the finale to be two hours long. So much for '48 pieces of the mosaic'.

Exactly. The promotion will probably jump into overkill by the beginning of the year.

I still love the news. Got the Blu Rays of season 1 and 2 the other day, so I'm starting from the beginning all over again. Kinda nice since most of the season 1 and 2 episodes I've only seen once, so they feel fresh again.

Sounds great to me. They probably need it to better flesh out the final season. They have so much to cover it's going to be insane. But I couldn't be more excited to see the final season!

...watch them ask for a third hour for the series finale come february/march... they're used to writing two hour finales anyway (technically 3 in seasons 1/4), they'll probably want it to make the series finale feel satisfying and not rushed.

It's not a matter of long or short seasons. The creators decided to end the show in a specific (give or take a few) number of episodes and ABC is stretching them as far as possible to make a bigger profit.

There's a reason they cut them. Otherwise, you'll have flashbacks of people having flashbacks...

People were complaining that the 23-24 episode seasons (season 1-3) had too much filler. At least you know the writers planned and mapped out these shorter seasons.

, it's fucking amazing. I want full Statue, Island, Smokie, etc. episodes, not rushing through it like it's going on.
