I have no idea since I've never seen Kalifornia. I'm talkin' "true nudity" on "True Blood".

Wait, how come...
Spoiler:
at the end in the dungeon, the cross burned Erik, but last season Bill was in the Church and he all but kissed the cross the congregation covered up out of respect?

Well you don't need to spoiler tag that Grobo since that happened this episode. I'm guessing the cross was silver.

Re: True Blood *S2 Premiere* - "Nothing But The Blood" - 06/14/09

Just watched this again and damn I love this show. I love how they incorporate the music in each episode. Ball did the same thing with Six Feet Under which is another of my favorite shows.

One question though, I can't remember the last scene in the finale last year. I do remember however, thinking wtf? Any help?

If I remember correctly I believe they showed the legs of that body in Andy's car.

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Vampires are going to be around long after every human, so they should be the most environmentally conscious. It's easy for most of the humans on the show to not give a shit what happens to the world in 100 years, because they'll be dead and gone. Not the vampires.

I actually thought that was the most clever part of the episode.

For those curious:

Sunday's "True Blood" on HBO scared up good numbers, according to the Nielsen Co.

The second-season launch of the sexy vampire drama starring Anna Paquin attracted 3.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched HBO original program since the June 2007 finale of "The Sopranos."

Moreover, Sunday's telecast was up 157% from the first-season premiere and up 51% from the first-season finale, indicating viewers were eagerly awaiting some, uh, fresh blood.

What's more, the initial ratings do not include time-shifted or on-demand viewing.

The Alan Ball-produced drama, inspired by novels by Charlaine Harris, also opened to good critical reviews, which may have helped boost the audience.

So I guess we all agree that it was a body double of her standing in the road with the pig, last season?

Really couldn't see much anyway. I paused and played in slo-mo, over and over again.

Yeah I remember that. I just never thought about the cross being silver until the other poster mentioned it.

The dungeon had the Wheel of Pain! By the end of the season, they will all come out of it looking like Conan The Barbarian. And Crom will smile upon them.

I'm sure that the ratings for the episode were helped by the fact that HBO was having a free preview weekend, at least on Time Warner Cable. This was the first episode of the show I ever watched on HBO as I am not a subscriber.

Re: True Blood *S2 Premiere* - "Nothing But The Blood" - 06/14/09

I resubscribed to HBO just for TRUE BLOOD (and Entourage coming up, plus eventually the return of Curb Your Enthusiasm) and I was NOT disappointed. I heard Howard talking earlier this week about how great Paquin looked; I was never much of a fan before but WOWIE she was hot.

Does anyone else think the gap in her teeth makes her even hotter? Or am I just flipping the proverbial bacon-trampoline here?

As for the episode itself... quite excellent. Picked up right where the show left off and opened up a a host of potential new plotlines. I am very much looking forward to seeing how this season will play out.

I will agree about the gap in the teeth. Always dug a gap-toothed chick for some reason.

I hear you man. i was thinking that even with the gap and square jaw line there's something hot about her. I think the "innocence" of the character also adds something to her attractiveness.

...of course, she's still no Michelle Forbes.
