His first guests will be Will Ferrell and Pearl Jam, and he'll be Jay's final guest as well on Leno's final show tomorrow.

i figure, yeah we're still 4 days away, but why not start it a tad early, plus we could always discuss Leno's final 2 shows to see if he does anything special for them

Can't wait! I just want Conan back on the air, I've been going through major withdrawal. Andy as the announcer should be great. I hope Conan sticks to what he said in his last Late Night episode and keeps it silly.

I really should do something with those props from the show I bought...

Yeah, I'm stoked. Conan is by far, my favorite tv personality. From what I've seen, Conan and Andy have filmed quite a few bits for the show. So it would seem that they aren't keeping Andy just as the announcer. He won't have the same role as the sidekick as he once was, but he'll be utilized more than most announcers. Probably alot like they used Joel, but I'd imagine even more than that.

That was confirmed a while ago. They announced formally it on one of the last Late Night episodes. But you're right, it's always nice to have visual evidence

Actually the most recent TV guide did an article on Conan's new show. It says most of his old crew, producer Jeff Ross and his writing staffs have all made the move from NY to LA. It even says to expect more of the same old Late Night but with much more current event monologue. It's actually a little disappointing to read this.

Well why would it change? He'll probably even have the same theme. Letterman basically transplanted his version of Late Night to CBS when he started the Late Show. Same theme, same guests, same bits, etc. But over the past fifteenish years, the show has evolved and matured with Letterman. I'd expect Conan's show to do the same.

I am glad Conan is on at 11:30 as I will again have something to watch at that time. Fergusen and Conan on at the same time was rough on me.

I love Conan too and can't wait until he is back, but can we commend him for his choice of musical guest?! Pearl Jam is probably the best pick ever! I am stoked about THAT!

Uhh...no, I am 35 years old. I used to watch Carson/Letterman as a teenager in the summers when we were out of school, and then watched the last few years before Carson-Retired/Letterman-moved to CBS when I started College.

Hey, I think Letterman has gotten lame in the last few years, as I think he lost that edge. But nothing to me beats the late 80's of Carson and then Letterman on Latenight.

To put in perspective, it would be like comparing this SNL crew to the John Belushi SNL days, it is like night and day.

The best? He lost in the ratings last year to Craig Ferguson! Conan has a nice niche audience that enjoys him, and thats cool with me, but please don't make this guy out to be some great late night host. I love his bits, as he was a great writer on SNL, but he IS NOT FUNNY, and his humor won't click with the 11:30 crowd.

And by the way Leno has been #1 for the past 14 years over Letterman, get back to me if Conan beats Letterman at 11:30 once.

I'm 38. Cason was something I don't think we will see again. Lettermen was best left to the 12:30 crowd and still is. Leno was pretty tame. Conan is the best thing since Carson.

This is a good point, as Carson was so good, I don't think anyone can fill that void.

What you said about Letterman relates to Conan about moving to 11:30 and just not fitting in. I loved Letterman at 12:30 and when he moved to CBS/11:30, he was never the same, something about the show was never the same, it just seemed like he lost that edge.

Conan had a good thing going at 12:30, I personaly don't watch him, but he has a loyal audience, and like Letterman at 12:30 in the 80's, he can do what he wants. Moving up an hour, he may tame his humor, and that may not sit well with hardcore fans.

so ratings is a reflection of how good your are, not the quality of product you put out there?

So has Conan gotten better then his first few years when his ratings were dismal? I think he found his groove after his disasterous first few years, and the ratings did reflect, because he was going to get pulled back in 1995. Does it still sound screwy?

My point is that The Tonight Show is a cash cow for NBC, and if Conan is getting creamed in the ratings by Letterman, then NBC may regret putting him at 11:30, because they will lose ad revenue. If Conan was losing to Craig Ferguson last year, do you think he will fare much better against Letterman?
