Following up on this, I actually noticed that Conan looks a good bit older than I remember him looking last night (didn't see the first night). I think the expectation is driven mostly on the long tenure and advanced age of Carson along with perhaps the incorrect expectation that Leno would have a similar tenure. Carson was the exception, not the rule.

Andy seemed out of place on Monday's show. I love Andy, but man I miss Joel. I also miss the barbs between Max and Conan.

But Monday's show had me falling out of my chair. That was brilliant stuff. I just hope the ratings stay on top, he deserves it.

I think both shows have been really good so far. The bits are just as good as they were on Late Night. To those of you concerned that Conan might not go over as well with an older crowd I'm not sure if I believe that. I mean was Leno popular right away after Carson left? It might take some time but I'm sure people will grow to like Conan just as much as Leno or maybe more. I know my parents never watched Late Night often and have watched both nights so far and think Conan is doing a good job. My only complaint so far is I hope we see more interaction with Conan and Max.

Loved Tom Hanks last night. I think that's actually the first time I've ever watched Hanks on late-night TV.

Oh, and I think I'm the only guy out here who hates In-&-Out. Great Fries & Strawberry shakes though.

I will never forget the Betty Boop statue rant. I was in tears. He's so funny and the way Conan reacts to him is great as well. My biggest fear with the switch of timeslots is that we will lose some of the more colourful characters in the process (The Masturbating Bear, Coked Up Werewolf, Preparation H Raymond, Pimpbot 5000).
