IIRC, Kate's 22 years old, and yes, she puts on a nice show. She even sang "Halleluah" for us, sans the band, just her and her guitar.

I just went through the same experience. I'm glad I don't look as old as the parents of all the pre-teens. Kate also played a private and intimate adults-only concert tonight- no cover and open bar.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this news, but Rachel is coming back to Tree Hill next season for 7 episodes. I know Red Dog will be happy about this.

It's about fucking time.
Looks like the female newcomers are some decent eye candy too.

I am really excited for the show to return. I really want Brooke and Julian to finally get together for good!

I know this quite a thread ressurection, but I just watched the finale on dvd, and it wrapped up the show pretty well, Lucas and Peyton driving off with the new baby, the scene with Whitey and Dan was pretty powerful stuff. Why do the shows writers keep writing the season finales as if the show should be ending. Season four wrapped up the high school years as if the show ended, and now season six. What's left that could possibly happen in season seven?

Season 4 ended the way it did because they didn't know if they would be back for a Season 5. The 4 year flash thing was a solid idea and you could, if you wanted, stop watching after Season 4 and be left feeling 'complete'.
Season 6 ended that way because they wanted to put the story of Lucas/Peyton to a proper conclusion. Had they signed up for another year it would not have ended like that. Personally, I'm excited for Season 7 as they jump 1 more year into the future and some of the new characters sound interesting. (and I don't care for Lucas/Peyton anyway).

You also have to keep in mind that when the season 6 finale was shot, Mark Schwahn had no idea whether or not the show would be renewed for a 7th season. WB gave him a contract to continue the show, but The CW did not decide anything yet. Also, he was rumored to be in the running to be showrunner for Melrose Place. So, I think he gave most of the key storylines a proper conclusion including Lucas and Peyton.

Its just annoying as a viewer, they give the series some kind of closure, and you wonder what the hell could happen for a seventh season.

7th Heaven and Scrubs renewals are probably much more of a WTF to viewers. The CW only did 7th Heaven because they had shit on the network.

which was probably during the time they were writing the last few episodes, not shooting. He could have ended it differently (not so much closure).
While I'm at it, Look how hot Hilarie Burton is as a red head:
