abstain...haven't seen SG1, but I've heard good things...plus 24 isn't as high on my list to make me vote against SG1 w/o seeing it
Carnivale...I have a feeling wrestling will win from the amount of people on the site that have said they've never seen Carnivale and the number of people that own wrestling dvds. Although it's odd that WWE is even in the tournament. Does that mean we could nominate Sunday Night Football or baseball games that are on every day? Seems strange to have wrestling going against any of these shows.

I have a feeling it will go down hard, but I have to throw my support down for Brisco (and I love Curb as well). Also, that's definitely a terrible draw for IAS, it could have been a sleeper choice for a couple rounds against the right shows.

That first match-up is insanely difficult. I love them both in their own ways. I don't want to pick one over the other, but I am going to go with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia just because I think South Park will runaway with the votes otherwise.

Wow, only 3 votes for Stargate SG1 (and mine was one of them).

I love that show. It's the closest any series has gotten to the spirit and style of the original Star Trek since that landmark show. SG1 is just a hell of a lot of fun and has some fantastic writing and acting.

It's just a shame it's getting crushed like that by a hot show at it's peak of popularity.

I wouldn't say that. Outside of season 6, 24 is a far more consistent show than SG-1 ever was... and I LOVE SG-1.

Tough match, but Jack Bauer wins, hands down. It took all the SG teams 8 years to wipe out the G'aould. Jack would have wiped them out by episode 9 of season 1.

Why is it odd, Saturday Night's Main Event was on a regular basis in the 80's and early 90's and had a recent DVD that was reviewed as highly recommended by DVD Talk. To answer your second question I would have no problem for a show like Monday Night Football being nominated as it is was consistenly one of the top rated shows for a number of years on ABC.

With that said I voted for Carnivale over Saturday Night's Main Event.

I'm going to echo what was said above. For me, 24 has been 7 years of consistently intense and must-see television. It is the only show that I will reschedule things around so I do not miss. In its 7 seasons I have only missed one episode the night it aired because of an unavoidable conflict. I would hardly say it is at the peak of its popularity and think it deserves to advance more than Stargate SG1.

It's too bad a great show like "It's Always Sunny" will go out of this tournament so early being paired up with "South Park". I love both but voted for It's Always Sunny because I think every episode of that show has been great while there have been plenty of misses for SP, particularly in the middle seasons. Then again, the show should be credited for it's longevity... but regardless, I went with IASIP.

I think Sunny has had misses, but the highs with Sunny are higher than they have ever been with South Park for me.

At best, I'm indifferent to and in most cases I actually have a dislike for every show in this round...except Homicide: Life on the Street. Andre Braugher was robbed of at least one Emmy.
