Synopsis:

Spoiler:

A newspaper columnist is killed, and Sam is sure he knows who did it. The problem: It's someone he remembers from another murder case 35 years in the future, and the rest of the squad has another suspect in mind. Chief Harry Woolf: Fred D. Thompson.

Woo-hoo - second Who song referenced in a title - despite having a couple of episodes aired out of sequence i'm digging this show. Much like the Office, i like how this show is slowly carving out an identity of its own compared to the British version.

Had a lot of fun with this episode.

Spoiler:
So I take it the final scene means that the artist he saved later changed her name and became the wife/victim Sam had him arrested for in 2008?

That's how I saw it too.

That was a fun episode. While I like the Jason O'Mara and the supporting cast, Michael Imperioli really makes this show great. That scene with the tape recorder in the interview room was hilarious.

I enjoyed it as well. Still not really feeling Keitel as Hunt, but other than that, I liked it.

It struck me that British Hunt would have ultimately gotten fed up with the "by the book" method and probably would have told off Thompson's character.

This is a great show. It captures NYC in 73 perfectly. The attitude of the cops, beatings and general mayhem is right on. We used to hang out in times square at that time in the arcades and head shops and it was a really seedy place then. And Gretchen Mol, I never really liked her but in this show she looks great and I love her character. No nuts indeed.

One thing that doesn't seem quite right is I don't see cops like Hunt or Ray with long hair in 1973. Guys as contemptuous of hippies and freaks as they are would have been way more conservative in their dress and haircuts. But seeing Michael Imperioli in a Fu Mancu is way funnier than seeing him as a clean-cut Jack Webb type, so I won't complain too much.

I liked the cameos by Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, and Salvador Dali (and others from the early-70s art scene that I didn't recognize).

Spoiler:
That's not the way I saw it, because I got the sense that the 2008 victim was a young girl. I think Sam just inspired Eve. He already changed history by putting Tony Crane away 35 years ahead of schedule. Maybe he also changed history by sending Eve's art in a direction that the girl from 2008 would have (and maybe still will) independently get to 35 years later.
