Maybe he didn't know about Eloise. I'm guessing that based on his reaction when Locke mentioned it to him, he seemed shocked that Locke knew it and acted like that's all he needed Locke for anyway.

Another mental patient saw Charlie. This time he asked one of the workers if they saw Locke.
So mental patients can see dead people but the people who aren't crazy can't?

I also agree with Jack being the true leader. Locke is kind of like a preacher or something, but Jack is the real leader of the bunch.

Definitely "lost" and "life", but since we were eager to watch the rest of the ep we gave up.
A screencap would be helpful.

[edit because I found one!]

On further review, not quite what we thought it was originally

Here it is:

Anagrams that exclude the unlit letters include:

fortells with
erstwhile loft
fell worthiest
frees with toll

fewer shit toll

Does anybody else think that Ben went to Locke with the purpose to kill him? I mean, who else shows up with gloves, glass cleaner, and a towel for a friendly call?

I think Ben probably come prepared to clean up a murder scene, no matter who he visits.

What about Penny? Was she born on the Island as well?

And i believe the plane crashed on the smaller island, not the main island, hence the Hydra station.

Sure why not? Quantum Leap was the same way, mentally challenged people and young children (innocents) could see Al.

Re: Lost -- "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" -- 2/25/09

Ok, here's my theory... Christian Shepherd was on the island before - and Jack was born on the island, too. For some reason Christian leaves the island and eventually loses his marbles just like... Jack loses his marbles after leaving the island. Perhaps Christian is also trying to get back to the island and uses the "dead on an airplane" trick that Locke apparently also used. I think it's strange that both times Jack appears on the island it's in basically the same fashion - wakes up in the jungle. What are the odds of that happening? Obviously this theory needs a lot of work...

All this talk about who was or was not born on the island got me thinking. Wouldn't it be funny if on the last episode we find out that

Spoiler:
Barack Obama was born on the Island and can't be prez?

Ah, yes. Yet another episode of convoluted, nonsensical dross. If Shyamalan came up with this stuff he'd be shunned into oblivion with all the criticisms of implausibility and excessive plot-holes.

Still arguably the best show on television, however.

I think it's something like that.

And I also think Ben and Widmore are neither good or bad. Remember last season episode when they talk. I love that scene. You can see half their faces in dark and the other with light, for both of them. That for me was the clue about them.

Agreed on both points. When the show is cogent, it's awesome.

Locke did pick the compass. It was between a book and a knife, and Richard got upset when Locke chose the knife over the book.

Penny and Daniel could've been born on the island but they would've needed to be taken off quickly as babies to survive. Taken to England. Charlotte, I believe was born (in 1979) off-island and brought there around 1980 and raised by the Changs. Sometime in the '80's is when Daniel travels back and warns her not to come back to the island. Perhaps October 26, 1985. <---

I agree with this. This goes along with something I was saying last week. I believe Jack was "sucked" out of the plane during both crashes. Possibly due to a previous exposure to the island.

I didn't like it quite as much as I thought. Here's my question:

- How long is the time span between Ben killing Lock and his meeting with Jack at the Flash Forward funeral parlor? Because from what they showed last night, Jack looked like he was Sober Jack. But in the funeral parlor, he was raggedy, pill poppin' Jack. I don't think he turns from one to the other in just a couple of days right?

Jack was pretty out of it in that scene in the hospital. Add to that the whole "Your dad says hi" thing and that could send you into a tailspin.

I was thinking this same thing. John couldn't kill himself to get back to the island as goes the same belief with Christians getting into Heaven. As this season especially appears to have religious ties, I thought this could not be a mere coincidence. I wonder if when John confronts Ben, his response will be a simple "You're welcome".
