Microwave boy is annoying as all hell .. Can't wait for Sylar to end his need for him and claim that power.

Re: Heroes -- "Building 26" -- Vol. 4: Fugitives -- 2/16/09
I only watch this show for the trainwreck factor. It is absolutely atrocious. I don't think Fuller can even save it now.
Here are some of the ridiculous plotlines this week: Indian Bride - So this guy who they built up as being "badder than bad" takes one weak ass punch from Hiro and he runs off scared and gives Ando back? Seriously? Are you joking? The same guy who clobbered Ando and ran off with him in less than 3 seconds? Because Hiro waved a cake knife at him? I won't even get into the ridiculous "I have been looking for a sign" dialogue that was beyond atrocious. Tracy - She escapes and sees the one person who is trying to help her and who she is trying to prove she is innocent to, so she kills someone in front of her? Don't even SAY it was an accident because the look she gave was of pure intent. Just terrible terrible writing. Also I love how heavy-handed and ham-fisted the "abuse of power" plotline was handled. They basically said that the Constitution is great in theory, but when it comes down to it, you need people to ignore it for our own protection. Which, while I understand there are people in power who probably think that way, I don't feel like that's the message they are trying to promote. Sylar - Let's just stop saying "I only enjoy Sylar" in this thread. I feel like that's just a reflex since he used to be an interesting character. First of all, steal a better car. You have the ability to "figure things out" so hotwire something that isn't a stationwagon. The kid with him is incredibly annoying, and the writing can't build up a decent "protege" storyline. Also, his acting is getting more wooden. Claire - Is this car registered to you? Seriously? You already asked him if it was his car, so either it's registered to him or a parent, either would be trackable. Pretty stupid question. Also, how about this also when you approach the kid? I know you have a power because these people are after you, here's mine. ::Cut yourself:: We have to get out of here because they are abducting freaks like us. Honestly, the people who write this show should kill themselves. The dialogue is painful and the plotlines are so full of holes that you have to be either mentally retarded or incredibly lazy to just let them fly through like this. Either way you don't deserve to be writing for a major network TV show. Also for the rebel predictions: Assuming that this show can follow the most BASIC of logic I don't know how you can say it's Nathan. He started the whole program and obviously believes in it. Why on earth would he be rebel? If that ends up being the case, I will seriously find these writers and execute them.

Re: Heroes -- "Building 26" -- Vol. 4: Fugitives -- 2/16/09
Okay, the show is Far from perfect, but I think that some people are ignoring some of the positive aspects and looking only at the negative.
Pros. No more time travel, at least for now. Peter isnt a powerhouse anymore and seems to be less dumb. Hiro and Andos trip to India wasnt great, but it took one episode as opposed to their little trip from NYC to Vegas in season 1. The Heroes are grouping together more and not as spread out. Mohinder isnt a whiny pain anymore. Maya is gone. Sylar is still awesome. And to me, it looks like this seasons events have been building since the beginning. The world is turning into the world from the original post-bomb-NYC, except it is taking longer without a bomb catalyst. I think that what the writers are trying to show us is that time travel really isnt the fix the character thought it was, as the only time that it really fixed something, and not made it worse, was when they stopped the bomb, and now it looks like they only delayed that future instead of stopping it. And honestly, if you had superpowers and their was a largescale threat that you could help deter, how many of you would really stick with you're dayjobs? I know that I wouldnt, which is why I think that the Heroes not having their "normal" lives back isnt so unrealistic. Now if only they would advance the Claire/HRG plot that has been stagnant since the first season, that is my biggest gripe with the show right now. Last edited by Disneyboy; 02-18-09 at 05:42 PM. |

I dont think it was accidental either. I think, in her mind, she was thinking that she was screwed, her escape failed, her friends betrayed her, and, at best, she was looking at life under a heat lamp, I think she just wanted to take somebody with her if she was going down.

But how would 'real' people deal with someone like Sylar? Execution would be cried against. Drugging and restraining him would be 'cruel and unusual punishment.' Putting him in a regular cell would endanger inmates, guards and the people he'd encounter once he escaped. Too often we as the public forget the things that go on under our noses just to keep things the status quo, let alone keep from getting worse. It's a damn fine line and thus we have to make sure the best individuals are in positions of power and able to make the hard decisions. As far as the show - the lack of non-Guantanamo "real world" allusions baffle me. No leaked youtube footage of superpower displays? No powered folk who deliberately chase the spotlight and are celebrities? Lives continuously in danger and no desire to learn self-defense (okay, Claire learned some, but doesn't act like it) or acquire weapons? No nationwide 'danger' alert for Gabriel Grey, do not approach, ever? |

I finally watched this last night. This show is still a mess.
At least they gave Claire's Mother something to do for a change. They are making Sylar in to a Fonzie type with the young kid looking up to him. Sylar is no Hero. This whole subplot is quite bad.

I "liked" how they promoted the next episode.
![]() They are finally going to say if HRG is good or bad. Yeah, they have been switching him sides for a long long time.

Re: Heroes -- "Building 26" -- Vol. 4: Fugitives -- 2/16/09
There is simply a lack of mental maturity to the writing on this show. This is something an eighth grader would write and would think is "just so cooooool." It is apparent these people have never learned what the words subtlety or nuance mean.
If the writers were carpenters they wouldn't carry anything but a sledgehammer, and then wonder why all the houses they build look like a big pile of rubble.

Ehh, I don't think it was ever any question that HRG that was a good guy. Next episode has been worried that they're gonna destroy the only well written character on the show.

Bring back Kristen Bell and make that a stripper threesome.
I never liked Daphne and I hope Sylar kills this goofball kid. |

This show is now such an embarssment. My girlfriend, a huge fan of S1 is so sick of the shenanigans she wants to cut it from our viewing schedule.
Me, it's like the old cliche of the train wreck...very hard to look away. We're giving HRG episode next week to redeem, although that's doubtful. |

Reading different forums in the internet a lot people is fleeing this show. I don't know if ratings are showing the same.
I'm staying, doing something else while watching the show, just to be in the loop. And I still find Sylar pretty entertaining.

I enjoyed it. Not that any discussion should be one sided, but it would be nice if the people that hate the show should move on... or at least quit posting. We get it, it's a train wreck, but some of us still enjoy it. |

This is a discussion board. It's not like we're posting "this sucks" and running. I am trying to detail what I don't like about the show. I'm hoping Fuller can save the show, but I think I'll be disappointed. However after everyone stops watching you can enjoy discussing the show with only fans. All three of you.
