I guess we'll see.

Re: Lost -- "This Place is Death" -- 2/11/09

I thought it was ok. A little contrived how Jin jumped between the two Smokie/Danielle pieces but what can you do. To be honest, I think the only time I remember Jin being near her was the season three finale. It doesn't matter anyway because she was pretty crazy by then.

So Charlotte was taken from the island by her mother, and her mother didn't talk about the island or her father? Let me guess: Annie = Mother, Ben = Father

So what's the explanation anyway? That the sickness is her being crazy? Is that it? If so it failed to show in tonights episode. Also, I was hoping for a bit of a reunion for the character with flashes between the younger and older (pre-death) Rousseau. That seems less likely now.
I thought the Sickness was smokey playing tricks on them, like it did on Mister Eko with his brother. Anyway, they have a lot of ground to cover with her still, like Ben getting Alex.

I don't think any character is going to meet themselves. And I hope it doesn't happen.

Didn't Ben shoot Charlotte? She survived because of the bulletproof vest.

she definitely had at least met Ben before. In a previous season, she warns one of the Losties to not believe a word he says while Locke and Jack held him prisoner in the hatch.

I phrased it wrong. I meant, I hope for a full fledged episode devoted to her character. Our time traveling characters would interact with her young self for part of the episode and then her older self for another part, and see it tie together somehow that way.

I was not suggesting that her young and old self meet. I see now, though, that I kind of phrased it as such. That was not my intent. I think it would be a horrible idea for these "different time -- same characters" to meet themselves.

Yes, you are correct. Would make it that much more ironic though considering the entire Ben/Alex thing.

Impossible. Ben knew all the people on the freighter, even Charlotte. Hard to believe he wouldn't put it together that it was his kid.

no, i don't believe so. her shipmates were turned evil. her husband wouldn't kill danielle and alex without being screwed up mentally. charlotte is right, the island is evil. it wants all the oceanic six back so it can consume them. i said a while back that if the oceanic six don't leave for the island by episode seven the show will maybe dip in the ratings. but i do like the attention the people on the island are getting so i'm in no hurry for the others to return. I hope charlotte somehow comes back. miles saying he's "korean" was funny when he thought jin was talking to him and not charlotte. loved the temple of the monster and the loss of the limb. totally surprised me. Now I want to see hanso, the creation of dharma and why danielle's crew were "taken over".

When they zoom in and linger on a character and play dramatic music, like I should know who it is and be all excited, except I have no FREAKING clue what that character did back whenever. There are too many for me to keep up with! It's a great show, I just can't keep track of it all.

My guess is he knows that info because the Island/Jacob gave him the info. Maybe it didn't want him to have that specific piece of info.

I liked Charlotte's line about knowing Klingon. That explains her forehead.

I have to agree that the characters seems to be driven by the plot, which is slightly lazy writing. The only exception right now is Ben. I really want to know what he's up to.

And what's the significance of the primitive characters on the temple wall? Those are the same characters that appear when the old 108-minute-countdown reaches zero (if my memory is correct)

I'm guessing that there's more to Faraday than we think... and I got this vibe from Charlotte's revelation that she's met Faraday before...

Spoiler:
... I think that Faraday is Jacob. Faraday is the only character that has been introduced that is aware enough of the island, is smart enough to understand the properties of the island and time slipping, has been on the island in the past and future, and as "the old man" Charlotte spoke of, could be trapped on the island and in time becoming Jacob.

... or I'm totally off.

Which I probably am.

I'm not going to spoiler my response because I don't believe theories need to be spoilerized.

Wouldn't what you're suggesting make Faraday Jack's father?

Jack's father (aka "Zombie Dad") is not Jacob. He said as much last season. He's more like Jacob's PR guy.

She was still pregnant, though. So it was within 2 months from the previous scene. I suppose that could be considered a decent chunk of time while stranded on an island. That's more than half of the time our Losties were there and we know how much they went through.

What? How can you say he wouldn't kill Danielle and Alex? He most certainly tried to kill them.

Oh... Maybe you're trying to say:
Her husband wouldn't have tried to kill Danielle and Alex unless he was already screwed up mentally (i.e. consumed with "the sickness").

I don't know... Christian clearly said to Locke "you came to see me". Locke when went to see Jacob. So if that doesn't mean "Christian == Jacob", I don't know what does.

Edit: typo.

That's my point. So he was clearly Jacob when he was talking to Locke but then he said "say hi to my son" meaning he was Christian as well. Jacob=Christian I'm just not sure how.

Transcript from Cabin Fever between Locke and Christian:

LOCKE: Are you Jacob?

MAN: No. But I can speak on his behalf.

LOCKE: Well, who are you?

MAN: I'm Christian.
