PERFECT moment with Catherine at the very end. Could not have been more fitting.

Yeah I agree I always thought that Gil and Catherine had alot more chemistry than he ever had with Sarah. It was nice to see her give him a nice warm smile at the end before he ventured off to Costa Rica.

WTF?
This reeks of desperation on the producers part. She was one of the main reasons why Grissim left at the end and we were all lead to believe that they would live happily ever after in paradise.

Jorja Fox returning to CBS' `CSI' as Sara Sidle

LOS ANGELES – Sara Sidle is coming back to "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Actress Jorja Fox, who left the CBS crime drama as a regular two years ago, will return as Sara for the 10th-season debut and other episodes, CBS said Friday.
"We're thrilled for Jorja's return to `CSI,'" said executive producer Carol Mendelsohn, adding that viewers will "discover where life has taken Sara Sidle and what brings her back to the `CSI' team in Las Vegas in our premiere episode."
The show returns Sept. 24.
Fox, part of "CSI" since the show started, left during its eighth year. She was seen briefly last season, including one episode in which her character reunited with ex-colleague and romantic interest Gil Grissom, played by William Petersen.
Petersen left the series last season, with Laurence Fishburne joining the cast. CBS didn't say whether Petersen might drop back in next season along with Fox.

Actually, I think it reeks more of desperation on her own part. She probably realized that she isn't good looking enough or a good enough of an actor to make it in movies, so she's going back to the gravy train of CSI.

I think you are both right.
I also think though is that the ratings slide is being attributed to Fishburne not filling Grissom's shoes, when in reality it's the writers fault for giving us such shitty storylines when he joined the cast. They've done great with the Langston character but let everything else around him fall apart.
So since the ratings slide they think bringing back Sara might improve things, which it won't.

I haven't watched the last 6 episodes or so.
When I think of Laurence Fishburne, I think of someone who is really strong. His character is not strong.
