Wait a sec... you mean if a guy comes in here after watching only one episode years ago, doesn't read any posts in the thread but says that the show is garbage and that those that watch are wasting their time, he's threadcrapping?

Finally got some favorites! Danny (yes, the sad story about his wife dying) but damn he was good, and then the very last contestant whose house was hit by a tornado. Really liked her.

Jason Castro's brother! What the hell was in their mothers breastmilk?

I thaught the blind guy was actually very good. I hope he goes far.

I also liked that 20 year old Casey or K.C. she's cute with a decent voice. I noticed the camera seemed to emphasis her partial rack...or maybe that was just me staring

I'm already sick of bikini girl. She's so full of herself and acts like she's a godess. She won't last long

I would say that Day 2 stood out better than Day 1. I liked Danny, the guy who had the sob story about his deceased wife. I also liked the nerdy Indian guy "Anoop Dog."

I can't think of the names, but there were a few others that I thought were decent.

Hated the Black Guy who did the Chris Brown song and was sucking up to the judges. He was terrible...sounded like he inhaled a tank of helium.

The Danny thing was pretty cool. Sometimes Idol has a way of pumping up those sob stories, but then the guy/gal ends up being terrible. I liked how the death wasn't mentioned by the judges. Now I know there is heavy editing on these shows, but they didn't show it on TV at least. The black guy who had the dream and wore his glasses (goggles?) on his head was terrible and I can't believe they let him through. I think that was the guy that Simon said "juped" the rest of the judges. As usual, Simon is right on.

If anything, I thought they should have let on the cheerleader guy. He wouldn't have made it past the first day in Hollywood, but he was better than at least 2 people they let through and he seemed like the type of person who would have been just content to make it to Hollywood.

Yeah, the tattooed chick from Arizona (my wife instantly said shes going to be your fav isnt she?) and the guy that lost his wife are early favs for me... It seems to me they are trying to show a little more of the talented people early on.

I was going to stop watching if the the guy who had his wife pass away ended up sucking and didnt get through.

It' odd because Anna Paquin appeared to be a contestant last night. (along with Maggie Gyllenhaal, who was some weird cheer leader support squad for another contestant)

That was the first thing I said too that she looked like her. Which one looked like Paquin?

Anyone got an animated GIF of bikini girl doing her turn around or anything else?

I guess Groucho thought the new judge looked like Anna Paquin? I don't get that at all...not even remotely similar. Or maybe Groucho meant Ryan Seacrest? That might make more sense.

Good call on the Maggie Gyllenhaal look-alike. That's exactly what I thought.

It was the one who had the funny Grandma (a little heavier than Anna, but with the same mouth/teeth).

I love "the new judge" and have found my early favorite in Danny, the widower.

Yeah, how did that happen? He wasn't good at all.

The Bearded Guy with Cleavage was actually surprised that he didn't make it through.

I didn't think that Vaughn guy was good enough, he was dude with the hat that sang at the very tippy-top of his lungs.

I'm glad the Bald Electrician made it through, he was a lot better than I thought he would be.

Same for the Funny Grandma Girl, although I couldn't help but wonder who was taking care of Granny while she was auditioning. Poor Granny was probably laying in bed, starving, covered with feces.

Well, if she hasn't been fed, maybe the amount of fecal matter would be minimal.

Apparently, sweet little Casey is a bikini model as well.

They're going to have to rename this show "Bikini Idol"

Anyone else get a Robert Downey, Jr. vibe from him?

I did, but then again I spent most of the show saying "they kind of look like such and such...." For him it was RDJ with a touch of Rivers Cuomo.

I think she butchered the song, but she mostly had a good tone, so she will probably do better later on. It helped that she's smoking hot.

Re: American Idol -- 2 night/4 hour Season Premiere -- 1/13-1/14/09

Only a couple people are really any good. The rest are just mediocre who will eventually get clobbered in Hollywood or on the live shows. I feel the judges have to pass people who really don't stand any chance so they can meet some imaginary quota for Hollywood when they really cull the bunch. Kids like the one who did Chris Brown and pleaded with Randy had no excuse of getting a golden ticket.

Overall, I really could do without all the bio info about these people especially the ones who really suck. But then there would only be a half hour of auditions and Fox has to milk it for revenue.

It's also a sad state of our times when so many of these teenagers have more than one screw loose.

This is all true, and yet I'm still fascinated with the show. It's possible we all have more than one screw loose.

I actually like Kara. Has more to offer than useless Paula and Randy. Kind of silly for her to get into a catfight with the bikini girl though. It wasn't like bikini girl was bad. She was decent.

It's funny about bikini girl. She was just kinda there and did her thing. She didn't act stuck up or bitchy. She was kinda sweet and naturally confident.

Hating her is just ridiculous....

The thing with Bikini Girl is, if she hadn't been wearing a bikini, Simon would have dismissed her as boring and not good enough.
