I didn't think the new judge Kara really added much as of yet. Could it be the show's jumping the shark? Then again, when does American Idol not jump the shark?
Anyway, I loved her disclaimer before knocking bikini girl (such a bitchy move), but it got even better when she started singing to the girl, and then Randy says "I still like her better."

I thought it was an entertaining 2 hours.
I liked Kara DioGuardi. Not only is she very attractive, but she at least offered a coherent opinion unlike her female counterpart. Love her hair!
The guy with the Really deep voice was hysterical. I can't he actually speaks like that.
Katrina or Bikini bitch is going to be eliminated. Too much attitude and not enough talent. I did like her little Cat fight with Kara.
The 16-year old with the pink cowboy hat and top was a little creepy. Her voice sounded like it was processed by a studio mixing machine.
The Blind Dude was cool, but his voice was nothing unique. I can definitely see him making it to the Top 10. I agree with the Judges that he is probably more comfortable with an instrument.
I also liked Stevie and the cute perky 16 year old who helps old people. Other than that, it was slim pickings on Day 1.

The thing with the blind guy is, I think he will be much better playing behind the piano... So if he can make it to where he can start doing performances with the piano, he will go pretty far.

Watched this with a group of people last night.
Strangely enough, every woman (my girlfriend included) hated bikini girl. And every guy, myself included, didn't think she was that bad. She can get by by being mediocre; when you show up at the audition in a bikini, you expect her to be an awful singer vying for attention.
She was more of a trend of the "weirdos" not being too bad... there was the horror movie guy and the geeky guy, both who could actually sing. Even pink girl wasn't terrible.

^^^ I don't get the hate either. It wasn't like bikini girl was a bitch or anything. there's been far worse attitudes on American Idol. I'd defend myself too if a judge tried to show me up by singing.

That whole scene was strange. Bikini Girl's an OK singer and she didn't rave about how hot she was. She just stood there in her two piece--she's clearly a singer/model who's looking to cash in on whatever fame being on AI gives her. But she didn't make a complete idiot of herself, so having Kara trying to one-up her was strange. It just made Kara look stupid for getting into a catfight with a contestant that wasn't actively looking for one.

They had a technical glitch on Time Warner Cable in Hawaii and we had only audio and no video for 30+ minutes, right after it bagan. I gave up by then, though it was recording at home. Although they supposedly reran the missed video portion afterward, I didn't have it set to record that long. Guess I'll just fastforward to wherever video started when I catch up later.

Just finished Tuesday's episode.
The blind guy will be interesting. If he does, indeed, make it into the top 12, they're going to have to re-vamp the group dance numbers and whatnot. One of the judges always says it's a singing competition, which is total BS. The "American Idol" is not just someone who can sing. Regardless, I'd like to see him make it... after I hear him in Hollywood, of course.
The bikini girl didn't sound bad, but she's already too stuck up for my taste.
The girl who the judges split on (and Simon has the tiebreaking vote) was terrible and they shouldn't have let her in. I hate it when they do that because then it's just a bigger letdown for that person in Hollywood. Did they get rid of the group singing last year? I remember when they would let the crazy people in it would just screw someone in the group competition.
I like Kara, so far. It's nice to have a female judge on there who is not a complete waste of space (sorry Paula, you used to be ok.)
