How could the group he has been working with found out he was dead, get to CTU and take his body away and then secretly revive him within ten minutes? Did I not pick up on something? I can buy they got in touch with Tony later, after they found out he was dead and arranged the body switch for the funeral. Was it mentioned someone from this group was working inside CTU at the time and this person(s) took Tony's dead body away and immediately revived him without anyone knowing?
Spoiler:
My guess is we'll find out that whatever Robocop injected him with was never made to kill him but intended to make seem dead. Tony did say he was marked for recruitment the moment his wife was killed. My guess Peter Weller was to be his recruiter but Jack messed that up when he, you know, killed him.

In the season 4 finale, Jack was injected with something that made him seem dead to the Chinese authorities.

It's possible that the drug that was injected into slowed his heartbeat enough where it wasn't detectable by medical devices. The same stuff that was injected into Jack could have been injected into Tony.

I get all that, but according to Tony only 10 minutes went by from the time he was injected in CTU and these guys he and Jack have infiltrated had his body and revived him.

Didn't Tony say it was someone working within CTU but he never found out exactly who?

Why didn't they hold the sniper guy under the Patriot Act and deny him access to his lawyer? Haven't they done that in previous seasons?

The way the FBI is acting, it seems like at this point in the 24 Universe, there is no Patriot Act(or at least it's a neutered version).

Which could very well be the case for us in the near future given the incoming Administration. But in the 24 Universe it seems highly implausible that they'd be toning down their counterterrorism methods given how many times L.A. alone has been hit in a 10-year period.

Plot hole alert:

They go through great lengths to show that the main terrorist guy doesn't give Tony and his crew instructions for the next mission until right before go time. Yet, the sniper knew all about the plot to kidnap the Prime Minister even though he was never present to receive those orders!

I was under the impression the sniper guy was the one who was supposed to present Tony with the orders. That would explain why he knew it and why it was important to get him out of the building.

Okay, that's pretty much what I figured. I think the unofficial year for this season is something like 2017? I remember someone posted the timeline for the show.

Not sure when season 1 takes place, but I know season 6 took place 9 years after Teri's death. This season is supposed to be 3-4 years after season 6.

Yep, according to the timeline here, Jack is 51 and it's 2017. :P

Quote:
Executive Producer Howard Gordon in an interview with E!Online said Season 7 takes place in 2017 once you take all the Presidential Elections between the seasons into account.

March 2004: Day One (Primary Day of the 2004 election, Super Tuesday)
September/October 2005: Day Two
September/October 2008: Day Three(the tail end of Palmer's administration)
March/April 2010: Day Four (the second year of Keeler's administration)
September/October 2011: Day Five(Third year of the Keeler/Logan administration, right before the reelection cycle starts in Jan)
May/June 2013: Day Six
Spring 2017: Day Seven
Quote:
24: Debriefing marks Jack's birthday as February 18th, 1966.
So, if you take the above timeline as accurate Jack was 38 in Day One
39 in day two
42 in day three
44 in day four
45 in day five
47 in Day Six
51 in Day 7.

This also implies that Jack met Teri at age 22 and had Kim at 23.
(24 Debrief is a series of five mini-episodes covering events taking place after season six.)
Of course, this is just for the funny as clearly the writers aren't concerned with the truthfulness of the overall timeline.

I just picture next season, Jack jumping from flying cars and fighting off robots.

So I finally got caught up, and my opinion is hours 1, 2, and 4 were decent to meh, and hour 3 was awesome.

I sensed the 'Tony is undercover' twist coming, but didn't figure the Chloe and Buchanan twist.

I'll be back next week as I haven't been completely turned off yet, but the same ole' things that were supposed to 'change' aren't that much changed. Just renamed and had a shiny new coat of paint thrown on it. We'll see how long that can be entertaining.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- Season 7 -- "10:00am to 12:00pm" -- 1/12/09

Finally watched it last night and have to echo a few things:

- Callery's score has been better this year than the past few seasons combined.
- Renee Walker doing "what it takes" and becoming a female Jack was awesome.
- Chloe vs. Janis hacker showdown was awesome and definitely gave more credence to Garofalo's character.
- the reunion was amazing, the only thing that would have made it better was if Aaron made an appearance somewhere.
- What was with Buchanon's cat-burglar suit with a turtleneck?
- Jack & Tony's escape was pure 24 awesome. Not sure else how to describe it. Even better I don't recall them taking out that many people in the process and it was still intense.

What I don't get is Billy Walsh circumventing the Level 4 security protocol only to reveal later that he had Level 5 access because he had Moss' code. Why didn't he just use it from the start? Just another writer's red herring goose chase for the first half of the episode? Speaking of, there is still someone inside the FBI that is helping out, right?

Is it just me or does the main baddie (thus far, Tony's boss) resemble Logan's aide from Season 5? Refresh my memory, he died correct?

True, but they've changed enough. This is 24 we're talking about. Any tiny incremental change is monumental in their world. At least the new black-ops CTU has been trimmed down enough to not have a mole.

Agree with all your points except the last. That guy looks nothing like John Allen Nelson, who played Walt Cummings in season 5. And yes, Cummings "supposedly" hung himself.

True. Additionally, there's no ventilator out there that wouldn't immediately start alarming loudly when such resistance occurred. I realize the computer alert showed up on the nurses' workstation monitor, but she didn't realize it until she opened a specific window. And another thing, what kind of healthcare setting is designed such that a ventilator patient is down a hall in a relatively secluded room?

Of course this is fiction and it's fun. Those of us who have first-hand knowledge of the specific aspects portrayed on the show are often let down when confronted with the inaccuracies that surely could have been avoided with just minor consulting of professionals. I'll bet real FBI agents are either laughing, vomiting, or just not watching at all---primarily because their occupations are at the forefront of the happenings in 24. (Where the medical is minor). It's the same reason I can't watch programming like "ER", just because I can't look past the inaccuracies.

I'm having lots of fun with this season so far. The allure of 24, for me at least, is to see just how over the top they'll go.
