Agreed...the FBI folks are fucking useless so far (but decent eye candy). Hopefully that comes to an end soon. And that is really my only complaint. Hours 3-4 were awesome (1&2 weren't bad at all, but something was off).

This season is off to a great start...hopefully they can keep it up.

Oh, and Dave Barry's 24 blogs are back! This guy's a riot:

According to this faq, it's 2017 (which makes Jack 51!), but who knows?

And those Dave Barry blogs are a hoot.

Any other DC area folks annoyed by them inserting DC landmarks into the LA skyline? I also noticed that in one of the actual DC shots, a car was driving past the new nationals stadium and it was still under construction, so it was obviously filmed for the abandoned season.

One of the driver's licenses they pulled up on a computer screen last night had an expiration date with the year 2008. But that's clearly not when the show is set. It's either 2017 or 2015 depending on whether Palmer's election in Season 1 happened in 2004 or 2002(ala West Wing's alternate universe).

And yes, that would make Jack around 50 or 51 unless we're to believe he and Teri had Kim as teenagers.

The back 2 hours of the season premiere held onto sunday's audience for the most part (12.5 to 12.3)

Yeah I was glad to see that Monday's episodes did quite well in the ratings. Much better than what Terminator and Prison Break have been doing. 12.31M viewers for the 2 hours is pretty damn good IMO.

I forgot to mention that Chloe's "you looked great though" comment to Jack about his appearance before the Senate was classic.

So what up with Chloe's character. Remember when they were seemingly going to turn her into some crazy killer? *when she killed that guy, remember she felt no remorse*

A super secret squad of five people which leaves no room for a mole? It's just so crazy it might work!

But you can't have 24 without a mole every week so...

What I couldn't get a handle on is

Spoiler:
Tony dies at CTU. He is dead for ten minutes and then revived. Another body is buried in his place so nobody knows he is still alive. Who revived him? It had to be people at CTU. How could the group he has been working with found out he was dead, get to CTU and take his body away and then secretly revive him within ten minutes? Did I not pick up on something? I can buy they got in touch with Tony later, after they found out he was dead and arranged the body switch for the funeral. Was it mentioned someone from this group was working inside CTU at the time and this person(s) took Tony's dead body away and immediately revived him without anyone knowing?

Last season was the 1st time I had seen 24 and was hooked.
Now having watched these 4 episodes it looks like it makes the Left-Wing politics look wrong. Like when they opened with Jack on trial and then the FBI babe uses Jack's methods to get info after she's introduced as a by the book agent.
My question is does this show ever get any bad pub by the elite media?

Oh, 24 gets plenty of negative press for its right-wing slant. Hell, its own cast members have openly criticized its content, including Kiefer Sutherland.

There's no question it leans to the right when it comes to issue of torture. But it's also portrayed Democrat Presidents as mostly honorable and strong leaders, while the Republicans(at least up until this season) have been conniving, cowardly, and in the case of one, downright evil.

Not surprisingly, Hollywood finally rewarded 24 with the Best Drama Emmy in the same season they had a GOP President as the Big Bad.

Well I just caught up with Redemption and watched both nights, and I have to say it was 6 hours of "meh". The Tony thing just seems hacky. Don't really care about the African angle at all.

Glad some are enjoying it, but I believe I'm out.

Like with every season of 24, there is always those who love it and those who hate it. The show can't please everybody.

Anyways, it's going to be a long wait until next Monday.

Well for me I loved every season up to and including S5. S6 was crap. This is not looking good either, especially since the first 4 eps of S6 were better than these first 4 IMO.

I'll still check out what you guys are saying about the show though.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- Season 7 -- "10:00am to 12:00pm" -- 1/12/09

I watched the first four hours last season and thought it was great. Heck, I even bought the dvd that week to let people catch up. However, I just never followed through to watch any more, nor did I watch more once on dvd.

Having caught up on the first 4 hours of day 7 I'm very pleased. I didn'd watch the 2 hour film, but I heard I didn't watch much.

I'm enjoying all of the new faces and the new places. Even if they are faking some DC I think they are doing enough to give it a very authentic feel. It's not like they fake the Potomac scenes or those involving the mall area. Also, I though there was a very nice touch in the first two hours where the local Fox news anchor was the one on the news feed.

I thought the new analyst with the wife on the plane was in on it, but I think he may end up following the plot from a few years back where he screws something up simply by looking out for somebody close to him. I did role my eyes when the new computer girl headed down to the server room. I just knew there was going to be some sort of revelation followed by a confrontation. However, the Chloe v Chloe 2 showdown made up for that.

I'll echo the comments by those that don't think the First Gentleman's plot is that bad. I thought the SS aid was very cool at first, but I'm starting to think he's working for the cabinet member that is getting funds.

New Pres isn't that bad, and thankfully they haven't been spending too much time there. Even in past seasons the cuts to debates at the top always slowed down the story.

I liked the twist with Tony & Co. (Bill/Chloe). By the same token I'm glad this mole plot is working in the background, but isn't over like in past season (e.g. us watching somebody sneaking around in open site making obvious actions to thwart). Hopefully the gang of 3 sticks around for the season and achieves their goal.

Renee is kick some nice ass and glad she's on board. I'm expecting a showdown next week between her and Jack. I'm sure he'll have a few seconds to explain the situation to her, knock her out, and then regroup with the operation. I'm also wondering if she has something going on with her boss. Speaking of which, I don't think he's too bad either. Perhaps the FBI equal to Bill?

Oh yeah...Jack's back.

The wacky director from 'Entourage' is now a straightlaced FBI agent. Go figure.

Also, the President sounds exactly like Stephanie from the 'Bold & The Beautiful'. Unfortunately, because I hate B&B so much (its my wifes favorite show), I cant take the president seriously now.

And the warden from 'Shawshank' is her right hand man. My heads exploding now.

Thanks!

It's funny that the writers seem to be writing to the Internet fan base who has long seemed to agree on two things:

1. We want Tony back so he and Jack can be an unstoppable duo.

2. We want them freed from the government so they can do whatever chaos they want.

We got our wish.

PS Thanks for the reminder about Dave Barry's commentary! I LOVE those from previous seasons.

More effective...CTU perimeter or FBI perimeter? Discuss.
