I have two weeks of holidays and I'll be catching up with all of my backlog shows. You may see me bumping some old threads with my comments.

HBO on Demand has the first and second season of "Big Love" available. Haven't seen anything or even really heard anything about it, figure I'll give it an ep. or 2.

I spent the last couple weeks catching up on Chuck and love it. Now it sucks I have to wait another month before the next episode.

Don't know how extensive this is, but Time Warner Cable here in NYC has an announcement on the current bill stating that all the Premium movie channels (Showtime, HBO, Cinemax, Encore, The Movie Channel, Starz) will be FREE December 25-28.

I saw the pilot of Chuck and wasn't impressed. Should I give it another chance? I'm looking for a new show to jump into as well.

I'd say yes. We sat down with Chuck and couldn't stop watching it was so good. Next to Lost I easily maintain it's the best show on TV right now.

OP - are you looking for old stuff or new stuff? What do you currently watch? What types of tv do you like vs dislike?

I like Chuck but I would say no because I think the pilot is a good representation of the show.

What's an Xmas Hole? Some sort of temporary outhouse arrangement to accommodate all the visiting relatives?

Good time for me to watch some DVDs.

Plus my mom has Comcast ON Demand at her house so it allows me catch up on the rest of Californication S2 over X-mas.

It's good to know that its not just me and my mom who like to watch Californication together.

Just rent/Netflix the first disc. The first episode is a pretty good representation, but it's mostly all exposition to set up the season. They don't really get into the character development until ep.2+.

As for my holiday viewing, I'm almost halfway through Lost: S4 and after that it's either Spaced or Pushing Daisies, both of which will be new to me.

Damn! I wish I was watching Spaced for the first time! I've seen both series at least 12 times, you'll enjoy it I'm sure.

I've been catching up on Worst Week, which manages to make me LOL at least once per episode in a big way. Also doing the same with The IT Crowd, and will next move onto Leverage.

Why don't you use this extra time to catch up on some movies or your DVD collection? Once January hits, everything you currently watch will return.

If you badly need something, I would recommend Damages with Glenn Close. Season 1 was fantastic and only had 13 episodes. Season 2 returns on Janaury 7th.
