I saw that too. Pretty funny.

I thought it was pretty good overall, but not the new president. UGH.

Couple mistakes I noticed...
1. Sat phones don't work indoors (Jon Voight talking to bad guy in jungle)
2. When Robert Carlyle is driving back to the school and talking to jack on the phone, a split screen pops up with the phones screen promently displayed with a Nextel ad of course. Too bad the shot was taken at sundown while the show is still around 4 pm.

Enjoyed it. A huge turnaround from the train wreck that was season 6.

So you were disappointed last season right from the get-go? Most people were into it the first few episodes only to bash the season later on. I'm wondering if the same thing will happen this season.

Wow... i thought with the exception of the Jack half, this was boring. Lots of exposition about stuff that may or may not be important in the long run. Like I said, the Jack stuff was good, but he was only in HALF of the fucking thing. Extremely slowly paced...the season 7 preview was better than anything in the whole 2 hours... underwhelmed.

It was okay...but in typical 24 fashion, I wish they didn't always wrap things up the last 3 minutes.

i can already tell I'm going to hate the new president and that bitch girlfriend of her son, who was on my nerves from the get-go.

Seriously, they had her do nothing but bitch and whine throughout the entire show. good way to introduce a character.. Cant wait until she is killed.

I don't mind her hanging around as long as we get some more gratuitous underwear shots.

24 actually did quite well last night considering it's been off the air so long.

12.04M viewers and 4.0 in the 18-49 demographic.

http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/t.../383102571/p/1

Here's the breakdown:

24: Redemption (Fox)
8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 12.60 million (#1), A18-49: 4.3/10 (#2)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 12.13 million (#2), A18-49: 4.0/ 9 (#3)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 11.66 million (#4), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#3)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 11.77 million (#4), A18-49: 3.9/ 9 (#3)

I'm crossing my fingers it can come back strong and pull in numbers similar or even better than that come January.

Robert Carlye was such a good character, great performance

It would have been better and just as story effective if he were captured and started to get tortured. That way he could have possibly returned later in season 7. Been a while since Jack has had a good likeable sidekick in battle.

I hope Peter Macnicel's character hangs around

Cannot wait for the return of Chloe !

Season six was the first time I've ever seen 24. It did start off well, but around midway just got silly. I did catch an earlier season via repeats and it was quite a bit better - more plausible (for 24) plot twists, better pacing, better secondary characters, no nukes going off, traffic in LA, that sort of thing.

I should just add: Even though I though S6 sorta sucked, having Kiefer on a TV show like this just makes it that much better. And the supporting cast members do the best they can with the material (good or bad).

Hated the Nextel close up....

It was worse than most product placement shots.

Well it is 2017 in the 24 timeline now, so who knows? Of course that also makes Jack in his 50s.

Great episode. Glad 24 is back. Do we know how long after these events take place that S7 starts?

Agreed to both.

Unfortunately though, the setting all but killed the real time aspect.

Also, I love Tony Todd, however he stuck out like a sore thumb. I was enjoyed and was pulled into the setting by the real African actors they used, then along comes Todd with his fake accent which didn't work for me.

No assumptions. I just look at the page number and post, forgetting that I changed mine. The pic was just kind of a :P moment.

I too thought this was pretty decent. Elevates it from the dismal last season and sets the stage nicely for what's to come in January.
