I've already waited 18 months for a new episode, I can wait another two days for the DVD. Or should I just watch it tonight?
It's only 16 minutes of episode 1 on the DVD.

I would definitely watch it tonight. At least you will something to compare the DVD to and there is nothing like the experience of watching 24 in Real Time unless you fast forward through all the commercials of course!

This is the same situation as me, I stopped midway through S6. Hopefully this will deliver.

Well, my HDTV is on the fritz (until tomorrow) but I'm still watching tonight. No way I'm paying $15.99 for a DVD of it.

Well, fuck. Apparently my season pass to 24 doesn't apply to this, so I missed the first 30 minutes. >

I love Jack Bauer.

He got caught a little too easy though; although I guess he was out of bullets so he had no choice but to try and beat the crap out of them until he could get a gun. Plus, there really were a lot of them swarming him.

So far so good; although if they only knew what a futile attempt torturing Jack Bauer is, perhaps they'd have reconsidered keeping him alive.

Well, I lasted about a half hour, then hit the dvd shelf to find something better to watch. I guess I'm done with 24 for good.

That sucks, getting your neck snapped by a man's legs while he is tied up. What a loser. Jack Bauer is the man.

Also, am I the only one that didn't realize this was going to be in real-time?

And I think one thing is pretty obviously going to happen:

Spoiler:
Jack Bauer is going to make a deal with that Embassy guy that if he lets the kids in, Jack will go back to the United States.

Anyone else agree with that?

EDIT:

Really? After 30 minutes of setting the stage, you are willing to throw in the towel? Come on, it's decent thus far and it honestly seems to be warming up.

Yep. I think this was the perfect vehicle to get people back in the swing of things and ready for the new season in January. I cannot wait for Tuesday so I can see the extended version and the first 17 minutes of Season 7.

I'll spoiler this since some people may not have seen it yet:

Spoiler:
I was said to see Robert Carlyle have such a short appearance in 24. I think he is a great actor and I wish we could've seen more of him and Jack taking out bad guys together. Oh well. Loved him making everyone come in close before he killed 'em.

That was pretty good. Maybe now the writers realize they can do a 24 without a nuke threat or virus and have it be engaging.

Although i was disappointed in Jack not killing that kid

Who was the guy at the embassy that subpoenaed Jack? I've seen him before.

Loved a line that Jack says in the previews:

Spoiler:
Jack to Tony: "I'm going to kill you and this time I'll make sure you stay dead." Ahh.. Jack!

Redemption was SOOOO MUCH better than about 18 Season 6 episodes. It was a much better all-around episode, and they definitely have a lot more storylines that are actually interesting set up for Season 7. Those quick shots of Bill and Chloe furthered my belief that this next season should be fantastic. It's amazing how good this show can be without some kind of nuclear-device being in play.

And for once in a long time, the show stayed a lot more grounded in reality than last season. Of course, Jack is going to be a one-man army, but at least it remained realistic. Good to see Jack isn't completely dead inside yet, either.

Im excited for January 11, I forgot how much I miss this show. I really wanna watch Season 1 or 5 again...best seasons in my opinion.
