WU sucked - hate Seth's delivery - but I loved the closing.

His SNL Maya Angelou bits on Butterfinger, Pennzoil, and Froot Loops are genius.

Did the Mayan Priest exhalt in your buttery crunchiness?
Did the slothful Mastodon, upon his extinction, declare,
"Don't lay a finger on my Butterfinger?"

And for the record, I love Coldplay...especially Yellow. I just found it funny that he did it, since I was sitting here actually talking to someone telling them to just wait, I bet he'd do something like that.

A few good bits on the show tonight, some were horrible as usual. Here lately it seems like they air at least one or two skits a week that were exclusively written by six year olds. It's just far more blatant over the past few weeks. I'm beginning to think that's not far off from the truth.

Coldplay? Maybe you should be ColdSore
Back when you were U2 I liked you so much more..
Your song Yellow reminds me of pee
I think 'cause when it's over it's a big relief to me.

Was that the one where he played Goatboy's long-lost brother and literally butted heads with Jim Breuer? lol, one of my all-time fave snl's ever.

I liked the Mad Men skits, though you probably need to watch the show to get some of the jokes.

Another fantastic Halloween sketch with Bill Hader as Vincent Price. Too bad these are only once per year. Wiig and Hamm were spot on as Swanson and Mason. Fred did a good gob as well.

Bill is gonna break outta this show in a year or two and become a huge star. Someone write him a decent screenplay!

I've never been a big Coldplay fan -- in fact, until Viva La Vida, I didn't like a single thing of theirs I had heard -- but I really liked them tonight. Even Yellow, a song I never liked, was really good.

I've really been enjoying the music on SNL lately (although with David Cook next week, Lorne is apparently trying his best to challenge my love of SNL musical performances).

I thought it was a good episode; Jon Hamm did well with the material they had for him. The Halloween molester bit was good and they did a nice job with the A-Holes in Mad Men.

Have there been bands or performers before that have done 3 songs on the show *well almost 4 but they cut Coldplay off at the end*. I've always just seen a band or a performer do two songs and thats it*. Over all Coldplay was about the best thing on the show besides Bill Hader as Vincent Price, and the View/Rossie deal in Weekend Update was funny. But overall it was a forgetable show.

I thought it was the best of the season, a very good episode. The Pat Fingers bit was great and I really enjoyed the Obama Variety Show.

Yeah. If you go way back to the first season. The first few shows had musical guests with "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players" doing skits between the musical acts. The second show was almost all music with Paul Simon as the guest host. As the first season progressed, the "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players" and their comedy became the focus of the show and the music was pared down.

I think the latest one was U2. Not sure if it was 4 songs, but at least 3.

Oh, and why didn't anyone take Jason Sudeikis pinky finger?

Wasn't the Obama arm band he wore the whole night a giveaway?

I think Neil Young did 3 songs a couple years ago

Only the big acts like U2 and Coldplay get 3 songs.

Lost was the best Coldplay song and probably the best song on Viva La Vida.

The Will Forte halloween trick or treat sketch was funny.

The Andy Samberg reggae short was weak

I could not understand half of the lyrics and his singing sounded like nails scratching on a chalkboard.

I like most of his stuff but this was not his best effort.

I thought this ep was surprisingly SOLID. Jon Hamm was pretty great and only a few times did it look like he was reading cards, unlike other host who do that the whole time. The Mad Men skits were GOLD and I was surprised how well Forte NAILED Pete Campbell... hilarious... and Coldplay were pretty great too

My guess is that they had to do some filler for cut Amy Poehler sketches.

I was surprised to see, I believe, twelve musical performances during the Paul Simon-hosted second episode from S1. That'll never be topped.

The Killers stayed and performed more after the credits.

I imagine Coldplay did 3 (well, 4 almost) because Amy left so suddenly to have her baby that they may have not had anythig else non-Amy ready.

Fine with me. I love Coldplay.
