This episode was hit and miss for me. I loved everything involving Peter and Surfin' Bird, but the Jesus bit got kinda tired after a while.

For whatever reason, I thought the episode was horrible, but yet I laughed several times. ![]() |

Episode felt like something out of season 1 which more or less isn't a compliment, but it was better than that piece of shit last week. |

For me, I thought the first segment was probably the funniest 10 minutes of Family Guy ever - the whole Surfin' Bird thing with Peter just killed me for some reason. The rest of the episode however, meh...

Also, maybe it's just me, but thus far this season it really has not felt like it has had half as many cut aways as there normally are. The Marley Matlin one was funny (though the references to 300 and Last Mimzy makes me think this epsiode was made awhile ago), but there were way too few in this episode I at least thought. |

I had no idea that the bird is the word.
In the majority here, the Jesus stuff was okay but the bird song was very funny. Especially when Peter is screaming it at the audience.

Peter setting up everyone so he could segue into the song was hilarious.

I especially loved when Peter got to the middle of the song and Brian thought he had a stroke.

The Jesus storyline felt tacked on. The whole Surfin' Bird bit had me in stitches.

By the way, when Brian & Stewie were destroying the record with a bat, what movie was being referenced?

This episode definitely had a writer's strike feel to me, and I think making fun of Jesus has gotten kinda tired. How about a Muhammad episode, Family Guy writers?

I agree with everyone else. The "Bird is the word" stuff was really good. The Jesus stuff was pretty bad.
Loved the scene I referenced above (with peter trying to get Brian to ask what the word was - "i was expecting news of an ornithological variety..." - and Stewie trying to stop it), as well as when Peter was singing in bed and turned on the lights, and he was face-to-face with Lois. |

The Bird is the word stuff was top notch, classic Family Guy. The Jesus stuff was horrible, I turned it off about half way through.
