Law & Order 4/23

Well, at least they didn't kill him. Jesse's been around about as long as Chris Noth and Ben Bratt combined. Gonna be weird not having him around.

Have to admit, I was surprised by the direction the case took when Bunny died, even though I had a hunch Ed's past gambling issues would come up somehow.

I did like Anthony Anderson as the replacement detective and I'm glad they didn't make him the usual Internal Affairs weasel we always see on TV.

Was also happy to hear Lenny's death acknowledged again.

While I didn't like him, I didn't hate him either. Though, the exchanges with him and Van Buren was way too "foreshadowy" for my tastes.

I totally agree. I still miss him.

I guess it was okay how they tied this story to the previous hints of his gambling.

Hard to believe that he was on the show 9 years.

Hate to see him go, but it was a satisfying ending. I'm glad he didn't end up dead or in jail.

Anthony Anderson has impressed me a lot lately. He should be a worthy replacement.

Yeah, knowing it was his last episode, I thought something was going to go down once the mention of gambling came into it.

I thought it was a little over the top myself, and I hated to see him go out wearing that goofy hat.

I'll miss his character, and I'll have a hard time getting used to Antwan Mitchell being a COP! (If you watch The Shield you'll get it, and no I didn't watch K-Ville.)

I like that the door is open for Martin to come back to a L&O show in some form, much like Chris Noth. And I still miss Jerry Orbach, too.

A strong ending for a long-term character--it's all you can ask for. I like the episode and I think Anthony Anderson will fit in well.

I also liked Anthony Anderson's character, and find him to be about as good a replacement for JLM's character as anyone could hope to be. I also echo the comments about how happy I was that they acknowledged Orbach's death, although it made me sad at the same time. I guess the only sentiment expressed here that I don't agree with was by uteotw.

I thought Jesse looked especially good in the hat- and the sunglasses. A nice final image to carry with me. Nothing over the top about it in my opinion.

Overall, a bittersweet episode for me. Well done, as I suppose that was the intention.

A third team on L&O:CI or (Please, God) a replacement for D'nofrio...

Good episode. Sad to see him go. But, I think Anthony Anderson should be an adequate replacement.
