Why was Aquaman acting like that? I don't remember him every being characterized that way in the comic books or other cartoons.

I also don't remember him with the water control powers. Is that new?

Overall I enjoyed the episode. I think I like the short intros the best. Liked seeing Faust.

Not sure of the comics but he had them when he was on Smallville. Didn't form a sword but made that little water bullet thing.

I think in some comics he's been kind of a suspicious ass of the rest of the Justice League and "surface dwellers." I sorta liked this take. Thought it was kind of funny in an over the top type of way.

And when he had that water hand in the comics didn't he have water powers? Didn't read him much.

He had the water powers in the old 60s cartoons. I remember him throwing "hard water" balls or some such thing.

I haven't read any of the most recent comics. I thought this show was supposed to be a throwback to the Silver Age, and Aquaman was pretty milquetoast back then, if I remember.

I thought it was weird too, but it grew on me after a bit. I liked the episode in any case. "Outrageous!"

Another cool ep. I like how they do the guest hero thing(Atom in this ep) at the begging then they go into a whole new story with another hero.

Aquaman was hilarious. I loved the titles of his adventures. I also thought it was cool that they went with the "Classic" Aquaman look, but they gave him a cool beard. It was like the best of both worlds.

I remember the water powers from 60's cartoon.

Aquaman always gets a bad rap as being cheesy and having lame powers, so i liked how they went over the top making him cheesy and full of bravado.

I get sort of a Tick/Harvey Birdman vibe from the theme, but then I've never watched Cowboy Bebop.

I miss the days when theme songs were great pieces of music and really set the stage for the show. In honor of those days gone by I'm happy to post these opening themes for all to enjoy. They all have a similar vibe to them.

I dislike Aquaman's personality so much I was hoping Manta would kill him.
I did like the backstory with Aquaman and Orm.
Plus Manta, the sealife, and the underwater scenes were well done.

Next up is a Christmas episode with Batman and Red Tornado.

Although the villain seemed to be a rather lame amalgamation of the Joker and the Toyman, this was yet another solid episode. If Wikipedia is correct, the next new episode features a full on team up with Green Arrow.

Although this cartoon pales in comparison to the Batman and JLA cartoons it does have enough a creative spark to keep me coming back.

yeah, it's good in a fun way, but it'll never match the JLA or JLU cartoon.

Just watched the Red Tornado episode. Thought it was the weakest that I have seen of the 4 aired. Maybe it was just because of . . .

Spoiler:
the obnoxious little shit Bruce was in the flashback. Thought that was out of character. Interesting they showed Alfred after I read he would never be seen, although it was a flashback.

I read on Wiki, grain of salt 'til it happens I guess, that The JSA is scheduled to appear on this show. I remember that DC wouldn't let them use The JSA on Justice League so they made up a whole team based on the characters.

This should be interesting....

Re: Batman: The Brave and the Bold coming to Cartoon Network

The 1.10.09 ep was pretty cool. I'm still partial to JLU's Wildcat voiced by Dennis Farina but this Wildcat is still cool.

B'wana Beast.

I blind-bought a disc of Cowboy Bebop just because of the theme music

I don't think it was that DC wouldn't let them use JSA, lots of JSA members appeared, they just didn't want the JSA in the Justice Guild's spot, since they ended up looking kind of like chumps.

Actually, Giantrobo is right. DC didn't let WB use the JSA when Justice League started, They change their opinion when the series became JLU.

DC also didn't let JL creators use Shazam, except for that one episode, Blue Beetle, and the Batman villains (when the series changed to JLU).

Thanks a lot for that reference. Now I have the following scene replaying in my head:

[It's the end of the episode and Clock King is being escorted by police off to jail.]

Batman (Bader):Hey, Clock King.

[Clock King turns]

Batman: Watch out for your cornhole, man.
