I wish they would have it in December 2008 for the holidays.

So the question I've never seen answered anywhere : Will those 8 completed episodes be scrapped? If not, won't it be hard to bring everyone back a full year later?

Just because it's not coming back until 2009 doesn't mean they're not shooting...I'm assuming they're working on shows now.

Seams like a pretty similar situation to me, the only difference being that JG is a better actress. It's I'm just amazed people are so closed minded without seeing a minute of footage. But, whatever.
They are different actresses. As in "not the same."

Is it "close minded" to like some actors and not others? Is there an actor or actress you don't like and would thus not be pleased to see that person added to a show you really like? And if so, would that make you "close minded"? For example, I would not need to see footage to be unhappy upon hearing they were adding Fran Drescher to The Shield. But maybe that's just me...

They are resuming production next month. So no the 8 episodes will not be scrapped.

To the point of pre-judging them in a role you haven't seen yet? Sure. How do you know they won't impress you in said role? You don't.

As for your example of Fran Dresher on the Shield, why not? It's called acting for a reason. I'm willing to give whomever gets the gig the benefit of the doubt. I may be scratching my head at the announcement, but the casting director obviously saw something worth hiring so I'll hold judgement until the actor/actress proves me one way or another. It's not like Garafolo was cast because of star power and would be drawing in a huge new fanbase.

After all, we've already had Peg Bundy on the Shield.

OK, so there's not a single actor/actress you would be displeased about joining a show you like. Interesting.

I like certain actors and dislike others. I've never found J. Garafalo to be an actress I like (and no--it's not about politics--if Alec Baldwin were joining 24 I'd be thrilled), so I am not at all glad that she is joining the cast of 24 as a "quick-witted FBI agent."

How do I know she won't impress me? Easy--I think she sucks. But again, some people like certain shows, certain actors, certain foods--doesn't mean everyone has to because people have different tastes. You think she's a better actress than Mary Lynn Rajskub. I couldn't disagree more, but that doesn't mean one's right and one's wrong. You're entitled to your preference in actors, and I'm entitled to mine. Nothin' wrong with that.

Why not air those filmed episodes now and just re-title the show to 8 for this season?

How about "Eight is Enough"?

I suppose that this schedule would allow the cast & crew time to go to London and shoot the movie in the spring of '09 which would give that Summer 2010 movie launch as well as an eigth season in 2010.
