I would've immediately guessed Hardcastle & McCormick (based on the car in my memory), but didn't figure anyone would go that far back. Doesn't look like the car anyway, now that I did an image search...

Magnum P.I.? - I'm just grasping at straws based on the red sports car. Did that Ferrari even have a back window?

All great guesses.
The car in daylight and a shot that has more to do with the show than the car:

I actually was thinking Quantum Leap based on the shot with the rocks because I seem to remember that from the opening credits.

He looks familiar, seems to have been in more sitcoms than anything, but can't place him in any other show, or this one for that matter.

Is it Winchester from M.A.S.H? He was in Perry Mason and Matlock in the 80's.

I think it is David Ogden Stiers, so Perry Mason was a good guess.

Charlie's Angels

edit - Nope, he wasn't in that show per IMDB.

edit again - No, it is Charlie's Angels, I didn't look back far enough. I forgot that CA was a 70s show, I was thinking early 80s.

Anyway, wildcard time.

I'm certain I know what it is, but I'll wait to submit my answer until I have another picture. Someone else can guess in the meantime.
