I'm actually enjoying this. Then again, I'm not as nitpicky as the lot of you.
That is so cruel putting that uphill treadmill at the very end of the eliminator, though.
However,
Two Scoops Berry > All

Well, Hulk said Dude, Brother and Gladiator-maniacs but didn't get a chance for Whatcha gonna do...
They used to get 6 events in before the Eliminator, but with all the talking and intros, they've got it down to 4...disappointing.
Replacing the original theme with generic modern game show music...disappointing.
It's cheesy, bloated, and is just way too polished. The original felt like a sporting event, this doesn't.

The ending of the first women's Eliminator definitely looked fishy. The black girl just lay there right near the top of the treadmill so that the asian girl could catch up and win. It looked so obvious.

Isn't that the one who has gay porn photos out there? You would think he would know how to take a hit.
Maybe this is how NBC sweeps the little story under the carpet. he's "hurt"

It was very disappointing. I figured it would be impossible to fuck up such a simple formula that worked a decade ago.
First, the Gladiators... they blow. Zero personality. Only the Wolf was entertaining and even then he was almost too over-the-top silly. Hellga has potential but the rest are utterly forgettable. Speaking of utterly forgettable, their outfits. What a boring look. Black, gray and silver? The Gladiators should stand out, not blend in with the sets/events.
Second, the commentator was way too forced and unnecessary and definitely gave the show a scripted feel. Third, the events, where's the variety? They gave us two episodes, which was overkill, and they were already repeating them? I want to see the crazy ones brought back. And what was with the giant openings in containers in Powerball? Throwing the ball should be a penalty.
Who designed the Eliminator? Yikes! Why is the water stunt at the beginning? A little common sense would tell you it would be near impossible to hold on to the log or the bicycle being all wet. The swimming should be smack dab in the middle or just removed. Making the zipline drop into the pool would be cool, but with the fire it would be too dangerous, I'm sure. It just seems like it was designed to make the contestants fail.
As it stands, I'll probably watch again, but it seems I've put more thought into this post than the producers did when re-imagining the show.

The show has not changed, it was never a prime time show, and still isn't.
It deserves to be watched at about 11:30pm....
it had its moments though, good cheese.

They actually did that at one point in the original AG - I can't remember if was early in the series or in later years (I remember seeing it on a ESPN-CL rerun) and they had no rope to pull oneself up either.
However, I agree - this eliminator is harder, but it sucks that there are no Gladiators involved throwing obstacles at you.
