Blood Ties
Its a show about vampires. It will be canceled when it starts to get good.
When a police detective-turned-private investigator falls in love with a romance novelist who also happens to be a 450-year old vampire and the bastard son of Henry VIII, it complicates not only her job but her relationship with her mortal boyfriend.
Oh they already aired the first two episodes.

Hmm...according to Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Ties_%28TV_series%29
It's a Canadian show that started airing on Lifetime on March 11th. Airs Sundays at 9, it seems.

22 episodes already completed and I think, aired in Canada.
I watched the first 2 hours. To call it unoriginal would be an understatement; you have seen it all a million times.

Re: Blood Ties
I'm bumping this to see if anyone can recommend buying the series on dvd. I've never seen an episode of the show, actually never heard of it before I saw it listed on Amazon. The thing that worries me is that it aired on Lifetime and I avoid that channel like the plague (I actually blocked the channel...lol). I'm a fan of True Blood, so how did this show compare. I've seen Buffy mentioned in some of the Amazon reviews, but I've never seen that show so it doesn't really help. Can anyone recommend blind buying the series?

Re: Blood Ties
I read the books this series was based on and I enjoyed it. I thought the characters were portrayed decently and the show plots were faithful to the spirit of the books. I didn't start watching until season 2 but I thought the episodes were entertaining. You could probably watch an episode or 2 online (http://www.mylifetime.com/on-tv/shows/blood-ties/video/) and see if it's your taste.
The books are written by Tanya Huff.

Re: Blood Ties
I picked up the entire first season DVD on amazon uk for less than $10 shipped. 22 episodes!
I haven't gotten around to watching it yet though, it's still cheap on Amazon (around $10 with shipping new!)

Yep, this is why I'm asking...I'm thinking about throwing it in an order because it's so cheap.

Re: Blood Ties
Be warned that Lifetime split the seasons weird. Season 1 only aired as 10 (technically 11, as the first was double-length) episodes, the rest aired as Season 2. So that Season 1 DVD set at Amazon is only 10 episodes. The UK set is the full 22 episodes.
I really liked the show, and I'm not a fan of vampire shows, and ESPECIALLY not a fan of Lifetime shows.

Did anybody else catch on to this? I ran into it while browsing Netflix. The feedback on there and YT seemed rather positive. It ended up getting canceled though. Any sort of conclusion?
