You won't recognize anyone except for Jack and Milo and you won't recognize the significance of "Bluetooth guy", but this show isn't especially complex--you'll be able to jump in. I suggest watching the other seasons first, though, just because it'll be more fun that way.

Actually, tonight's episode is a good reason to watch prior seasons in advance if you can, since the previously unknown true identity of a recurring villain was revealed - without knowing that guy was a villain, the reveal wouldn't have had nearly as much impact.

Each day's plotline does start over, so it is possible to start watching a season having missed some of the previous ones with some success. But you will likely miss out on a few plot points along the way. And who knows - Season Six may have more dependencies on the past than previous seasons.

Wow! Who would have thought that Rocket Romano was Jack's bro. Good episode.

I thought that too.

The kid kind of looked like young Kurt Russell.

I was hoping they'd get Donald Sutherland to play Jack's dad.

Man, they should've waited to the end of the episode for that reveal. Didn't see that coming!

Error in tonight's show - while Jack was torturing Mr. Bluetooth, the TV in the background was still playing footage of the scene outside of Valencia instead of the President's speech. There's no way a news organization would not go to the President.
It was Fox News, not a real news organization.

Mr. Blue Tooth as Jack's brother is a bit ridiculous. Seems like they're reaching for straws here for that Wow factor. Also, I'm starting to think that they might have literally blown their load in the first four episodes of this season. Why would anyone try a nuclear attack if they didn't even have the equipment to detonate the suitcase nukes? I like this show as much as most of the people on here but I thought that tonights episode was very meh except for the helicopter on the house rescue sequence.

If Wayne Palmer were my President, and he took to the airwaves to give that speech, I'd be forced to commence looting immediately.

They had the equipment, they just had to pick it up. Now, due to unforseen circumstances, that piece of equipment has been destroyed, so they need a new one (and a new programmer).

Never keep the equipment you need to arm a nuke near a nuke.

It's just common sense really.

They were in the process of arming the nuke, if you can't have the equipment to arm a nuke near the nuke you're arming, how do you arm it?

Yeah, the Palmers were the only downside to this episode. D.B. Woodside is out of his league following Dennis Haysbert and Gregory Itzin. Much like he was the weakest of the 3 principals on Buffy. And can Regina King play anything besides a loudmouth, obnoxious bitch? It was kind of charming in Jerry Maguire, but that was over 10 years ago. Her act is tired.

That aside, BLUETOOTH DUDE IS JACK'S BRO?! This could be the first twist ever that literally no one saw coming. Hell, I knew Jack's father and brother would be appearing this season and it still never occured to me.

A few bad acting performances notwithstanding, this could be the best start to a season 24's ever had.

The Prez' speech was ok, it was that dry, stupid delivery he gave it. It sounded like he was mocking some other guys speech in his speech.

Made me laugh.

Why is Jack a handsome bad-ass and his brother a bald weasel....with a hot wife that JACK BANGED!

When Jack got the lamp wire I thought he was going to give Graham "the shocker!"

Never mind that. How can James Cromwell be the father of two short dudes?

A few?!?

Like Cornflake mentioned, DB Woodside's delivery of the Presidential speech was BAAAD. Regina King was grating, so was Patricia Heaton's husband; Paul McCrane was essentially doing the same schtick he did on ER, and Fayed's looking more like Michael Stipe.

Even with the reveal of Bauer's bro, this was a bland episode.

Could be he's a brother from another mother...

Course, it still doesn't explain how he has a hot wife (and I'm in the group that thinks Blue Tooth's son is actually Jack's offspring).

She's Rena Sofer, recently seen on Blind Justice, currently also on Heroes, and was on Melrose Place over a decade ago.
