I disagree. Who knows when Martin will actually finish. The books are good enough that I wouldn't want to wait a decade or more to read them just because I might forget stuff. Read them all now, then when the next book comes out, feel free to re-read them.

Well if you have the time to re-read books then yeah, go for it. The books are so great that re-reading them wouldn't exactly be a chore. But I take quite a while to read through a book because of the limited time I have to do things such as reading. That's why I would rather read a book once and take the time I would spend re-reading something to read something new.

I'll probably go through them one more time before Dance is out.

I generally always re-read a series when a new book comes out. I like the whole story to be fresh. Then again I read pretty fast.

Sean Bean ascends to "Game of Thrones"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Sean Bean has nabbed the lead in "Game of Thrones," HBO's adaptation of the George R.R. Martin fantasy-book series.

Tom McCarthy ("The Visitor") is directing.

The books revolves around a battle among seven kingdoms and between two ruling families for control of the Iron Throne, the possession that ensures survival through a 40-year winter to come.

Bean will play Lord Eddard "Ned" Stark, known for his sense of honor and justice, who becomes closest adviser to King Robert (Mark Addy).

Kit Harrington will play Jon Snow, Bean's bastard son, and Harry Lloyd will play Viserys, a powerless ruler who seeks to marry off his sister to a powerful king. Jack Gleeson will play Joffrey, King Robert's son.

Peter Dinklage, who starred for McCarthy in "The Station Agent," also is in the cast for the production, which is in the pilot stage and begins shooting in October in Ireland.

"Thrones" marks the latest fantasy epic-style production for Bean. He recently wrapped shooting on "Percy Jackson & the Olympians," an adaptation of Rick Riordan's children's book. Bean also has "Black Death," a supernatural thriller set during England's first bubonic plague, in postproduction.

Tyron needs to be constantly fucking around and joking

And Jamie is gonna be tough
A very young, dashing, debonair wiseass who BTW, gives off the impression that he can take your head off in 3 seconds flat if angered
Its gonna take a special actor to be able to pull that off

Where have you seen a picture of Jack Gleeson thats new enough to tell what he's going to look like in AGOT? Or were you just going by the one I posted because that one is from Batman Begins which is about 5 years old now.

This one is a little more recent but I have no idea how old it is. Plus its just not a very good pic.....

IIRC Joffrey is just hitting puberty just like Sansa in the first book. 12-14 or something like that.
