Piven was originally only scripted for one scene in the pilot, but the writers obviously realized they had a breakout character on their hands(and given last night's Emmy win, they were onto something) and expanded the role.
Adding Lloyd to the mix in Season 2 was genius. I never thought I'd be saying this, but good riddance Samaire Armstrong!

Another good episode for Drama, him still being upset about a girl that dumped him in 1st grade because he didn't know why
And Ari offering Drama Sureal life of his pilot doesn't get picked up.

I really hope that they don't split this season into two different dvd releases like they are doing with Sopranos s6 and like they did with SatC s6.

Well this season wrapped up pretty well. Very enjoyable, Ari continues to amaze and amuse.
He is not leaving this show...that's like taking Kramer away from Seinfeld at his peak...sure Piven is only a supporting character, but he is by far the main reason people watch this show every week.
It's tough to wait for new episodes, but it'll be fun to watch through season 3 on inDemand or something. For those new to the show, season 2 is unparalleled; I could watch those episodes every day.

it's really a weird coincidence with JP getting the Emmy and Ari getting fired by Vince the same night! Only in Hollywood that it could happen.
i'm just weirded out why Ari did the sales pitch when he must be doing is presenting new movie opportunities to Vince to take his mind of the Ramones project. I guess they wanted to show that all agents in hollywood are alike or think in the same way. I guess that's the only goal in hollywood... to be a brand name!

some thoughts..
hbo.com is calling this the 'season finale'. it was also introduced that way before the show. so does that mean season 4 will only be 8 episodes?
i thought the episode was very MEH. extremely predictable, and the stories are just getting old.. vince has a movie, loses the movie, has another movie, loses the movie.... there were definitely some great lines in this episode, but overall, i thought this episode, and the entire season really, was a big let down..
oh, and we didn't see vince (the actor) act once the entire season..

You're both wrong. He's neither the main nor the only reason that I watch. I watch it becuase I love it. If Piven was never on another episode, I would still watch every one.
Most people I watch with feel the same way. Ari's a great character and adds a lot to the show, but he is just supporting. It's all about the Entourage.
