Has How I met your Mother been pulled or cancelled?

I noticed that they are showing a new episode in the time slot previously held by How I met your mother. Has it been temporary pulled or will it be back soon??

I don't know when it will return, but it will return. It has already been renewed for next year.

Actually, a peek at the CBS website indicates it returns next week.

I guess since the last two episodes actually aired on back to back weeks I was kind of expecting a new one to be on tonight. Its geting pretty annoying keeping track of when this show will actually be on.

Considering it's a hit it doubt they would cancel it.

Yeah - a new episode is scheduled for next week in the regular time. I'm guessing they just had a repeat slated to run this week, and decided to show an extra episode of the new JLD comedy instead (I guess doubling the chances that people would accidentally stumble upon it while flipping around tonight.) How I Met Your Mother has definitely grown on me as the year has gone by. It started out as something I would only flip to if the football game was a blowout (I'm on the West Coast) to something I even bother to record if I'm not home.

Before the other show started they said that it would return next week. I promptly went back to playing video games.

It is a fun show. Doogie kicks ass. Band Camp is great too.

I think they just wanted to give "The New Adventures of Old Christine" a double try-out. They probably want to see where it will do better (8:30 or 9:30).

Did anyone else notice during the 8:30 "Old Christine", they showed some text on the bottom of the screen that read "Up Next How I Met Your Mother". WTF?

I am guessing you were watching on an affiliate station that shows episodes from different networks.
