I just started watching the show myself a few months ago. It's formulaic, but still fun. The characters keep it going, not so much the cases. Sometimes, Bones' dialogue is just silly, nobody talks like she does.

In the beginning of the 1st season, Bones takes some getting used to, but by the end of the season she really grows on you.
