I did like the Asian gal....she (flash or no flash) was the best thing I saw in that hour. Forgive me for being too lazy to Google her name. She knows who she is.

Did anyone notice the flub in the scene with the photographer after the opening credits? I think it was the first shot of the photographer. The image was reversed. You can tell by reading the patch on her jacket. The next cut of her it's normal, you can read Canon on her camera strap. As far as I could tell there were no mirrors or anything to cause that.

I wasn't crazy about the chemistry between Boreanaz and Deschanel. I'm neutral for now, but it didn't excite me and leaving me looking forward to the next episode.

I really struggled to make it through the whole hour - and after having heard glowing things about (damn you, AICN) I was wholly underwhelmed. I may give it one more ep to see if settles in, but I don't have the interest to invest much more time than that.
There were too many hokey red flags:
- wisecracking sidekicks
- hologram computer program
- the godawful dialogue
- music montages
Take note of the horrible dub job for Boreanz when he's on the steps of some landmark building, talking to the bearded red-haired "squint". I swear he had a southern accent for a couple of minutes.
On an unrelated note: I find Emily Deschanel very cute in a bookwormy kind of way.
I hope a serial killer eats the souls of Bones' assistants. Now that I might watch.

She was hard to get used to in Bones.... in the beginning and middle she lacked, but near the end (can't remember the scenes now....old age has me in it's clutches) she started appealing to me. Maybe it's because the rest of them sucked donkey....youknowwhat..... dunno.... but I think she has "something" that makes her stand out.

OKay, now that I've finally watched it...
- I like the leads and their chemistry. I was actually able to see DB as a new character here. Emily is cute in this, although when they show her "dressed up" in the "next week on Bones bumper" she looked terrible.
- The lab staff are annoying, especially the curly haired conspiracy guy. Michaela Conlin was almost cute at times, but my problem wit her is this: if anyone watches Big Brother, remember the veto competition last week where they morphed three houseguests' faces together? Michaela Conlin kinda reminds me of one of those pictures.
- The hologram thing was too much. CSI pulls out farfetched technology, but they usually keep it somewhat plausible. I could buy the hologram chamber could exist, but not with that clarity (and especially not in the matter of seconds... rendering time anyone?)
- I like what they are going for here. A little bit CSI, a little bit cop show, a little bit M/F buddy/flirting (a la X-Files, Moonlighting, Remington Steele...) The problem is the execution needs some work and the elements surrounding the two detract from it a bit.
I didn't hate it like some of you do, and I'll probably keep watching for a little while at least.

This show has potential. Right now I'll watch it for the weirdness of seeing Boreanaz in the sunlight, but if it continues to be as lackluster as it was this week, I won't be watching for long.

I thought that fool who runs AICN took an exception to "Angel"- the only Whedon show he didn't like?
Whatever...AICN is nothing more than utter trash anyway.

I'll go with the majority here and just give it an average rating. I might watch it again, but it ain't gonna be something that I will be have to see every week.

I liked it well enough. Not loved, but it held my attention. The hologram table (while a bit much) didn't bother me too much...until they had the hologramed recreated death scene. That was god awful and they should take great pains to drop things of that nature from the show. Otherwise I'll be back for the next 4-5 eps to see if it gets better. Like others have said the leads were really good, while the supporting cast could use some serious work.

Hmmm, two pilots on the same night reference Mulder and Scully. I wonder if Night Stalker will make it three?
Of the limited number of new pilots I've seen this season so far, this one was the worst. Laughable dialogue and more technobabble than a Trek episode.
I'll still be watching next week.

Bones, on the other hand, I won't miss once it's cancelled. Maybe then Boreanaz will be cured of his Gellaritis...
